It would be great if somehow Subsonic could create an application to stream the music on the website.

I would be interested in it, however I don't know if there is really a need for it. Most of the site is able to work on the iPhone and you can even listen to the streams now without using any other application. I personally would find it useful and make going on this site from my phone that much easier.

That's great. I didn't know you could do that now. When did that get added?

It is a feature that became available on the iPhone with the release of OS 3.0. I believe it came out around mid July when the iPhone 3GS was released.

We've been using it quite a bit on my wife's 3G when we travel. We have a lot of problems with it, though. The streams are very slow to load, and get dropped a lot. It doesn't seem to matter how good our reception is, either. In fact, yesterday we were coming home from an out-of-town trip, and we were in an area with 3 bars of reception, and when we entered an area with 5 bars of reception the stream dropped completely and we had to start over from scratch. We figure maybe the problem is happening when we get switched from a tower in one coverage area to a tower in a different coverage area. No matter what's causing it, though, it sure is annoying. If anyone has any insight into this I would sure like to hear it. I have the original iphone and was thinking of upgrading to the 3G so that I could get features like this, but I'm not so sure I want to until we figure out why my wife's 3G is having so many problems. Is it the phone, or is it the service? What good is new technology in a phone if the support isn't there from the service provider?

I believe the stream dropping actually has to do with the data connectivity speed which on the iPhone is the E and 3G. The preferred and fastest data transfer is the 3G while the E (Edge) is a bit slower. A lot of rural areas do not have great 3G service so the higher quality streams might get dropped. There might be times when the phone switches between the two where there will be no letter for data connectivity and that is the point in which the stream connection will be lost or dropped.

I still use the Tuner Internet Radio application whenever I have it on the iPod and connect the stream to it. It's been a while but I want to do it again soon and I'll have to find the post with the stream links again.

You know, Len, that makes a lot of sense. I hope you're not making it up!
Just kidding...
You're most likely right, because the problem usually happens on the open road as we're passing through various small towns. I hope they do something about it soon. We need our Subsonic fix when we travel!!!

Hey, this is another one for the "you know you're a WDW nut when...." thread. When you freak out because you can't get Subsonic to stream consistently on your iphone while traveling... yeah, I'm going over to that thread to post it right now....

I didn't know you could stream from the site on the iPhone. But those that are having it skip, perhaps using the 24k streams will help.

I did not vote because I do not have an iphone, but I would love it if there were a way to stream the music on my phone.
