Iphone Stream Player

Thought I would share with everyone, that there is now an application in the AppStore that will stream the station over edge-wifi-3G. It costs $4.99, but I bought it, and can confirm that it works fine. It won't play in the background so to speak, so you cannot do anything else while you listen, but it is still very cool to listen to sonic on the go!!

The app is called "tuner"

That is wonderful news. I haven't wanted an iPhone, because I am not kind to my phones and like the added protection of a flip-phone, but this is making me reconsider.

you spend that much on a phone so you can pay more for an application that allows you to listen to streaming.........(loss for words) thats dedication. Sub needs to bump you to a C ticket for this.

I'm listening to it right now on my iPod Touch via the Tuner app!! :D This is awesome!

The only thing that's weird is the background station seems to have to 96k streams, while the request play has two 64k streams and a 24k stream. How come?

I'm dying for an iPod Touch just for the sake of listening to this site on it. I should tell my friend to try this out whenever he gets his iPhone.

Yes, this is really cool! This also works fine on an original iPhone with updated software, but only with the lower-bandwidth streams. I plugged the phone into a cassette adapter in my car and now I can listen to Subsonic as I drive. It's great!

Wow that sounds amazing. I might have to think about getting an IPhone. I am up for a new phone now and I am switching to AT&T.

So, as much of an Apple fan that I am, I've not been as big on the iPhone because of the cost of plans and the fact that I'd have to switch to ATT. However, being able to listen to Subsonic anywhere might be worth it........might be.

I will still just take my Macbook to many places. But Subsonic in the car would be pretty darn cool.
