General question, out of my own curiosity. Does anyone know the total length of all of the songs in the library? I'm just curious, as there's probably more here than in any other radio station I've ever heard - internet or broadcast.

Just under a month of play time, nice. But how much actually get played? Especially on the request stream.

HOLY...
I know of broadcast stations proud to have 24 hours without commercials.
Average track length is almost exactly 4 minutes. Really, just about 3:59.3

How much hard drive space does the Subsonic collection take up?

I've been collecting music since I was 10 or 12 and I have 148 GIG of music on my hard drive. Every LP, CD, cassette, 8 track (yes I can still play them), and reel to reel I have has been put on my hard drive. That also includes my downloads (who goes to the store to buy music, you can just buy it online now). :D

Yes, any song can be played. You would have to wait till after it's played to play another track. Also you would have to play that alone..I.E. If you played a shorter track the system would not let you play another track that put you over 30 minutes.

I have a question. If the system auto plays a track does it flag it just like if we played it? Is there a wait time until it's available again?

The answer is no. A track is only rendered unavailable if its been requested.

I wish I knew how much it takes up but I'm sure it's not much if Sub has a large hard drive. Still, my mom has about 7000+ songs on her iTunes though she needs to go through it and delete stuff off. I wish I had most of the songs from this site but I love it too much. :D
