Hey all --
This is my first topic post, so hope I do this right. Just wanted to know what people's thoughts were on the recent growth of the queue length. I used to be able to log on in the morning at work around 9:30 AM PST and my requests would pop up anywhere from noon to 3:00 at the latest.
As of the last month or so, it seems like it requests won't get on until 5:00 at the earliest. Today in fact, the line was booked up until 6:30 PM!
I'm really not trying to complain as everyone should be able to experience the fun of this site, but just wanted to see if anyone had thoughts as to why the sudden jump may have happened.
Love the site and appreciate all the hard work everyone puts into it!

I've noticed it too. It can be frustrating but most of the picks already made I enjoy.

Yeah, it does get hectic trying to request songs when there's a huge line. I usually wait until it's close to midnight where I'm at when there's only one other person requesting. Then again I don't get most of the songs I want to hear at that time so it's a sad thing. But I'm happy listening to them either way!

I don't really request during the day anymore. I've found I get my request played on the weekend.

Yeah I've noticed the popularity recently. It doesn't bug me though as this is still one of the best disney radio stations around and I usually request late at night anyways now. Now I play the game to see how long the queue line is today lol and who requests what....
Like today, I thank the person who requested all of the Tree of Life Music, that made me smile as it is one of my favorite tracks right now

I have noticed that. However, if you plan accordingly, you can time it out where you can have fun doing other things and then come back to listen to your favorite track.

I think when we fixed the issue of members requesting large blocks of tracks, we created another issue. Its seems we broke the darn of requests, and now flooded the listener valley.
So now anyone that requests tracks uses up all their points or fills up a whole hour. While this does allow more individuals to request tracks, its not exactly what we where shooting for.
We have kicked around a few idea, one being limiting the requests to 30min or 1 track > 30min. You can give your feed back on that.
We also have another idea that we feel is very very cool that will also be a solution to the long request queue. I'm just going to tease you, and not give you any details while we work on the techinal details.
But trust me its pretty cool. Hang in there....

Such a tease! I bet it will be great. You guys seriously run the best site on the internet and I know all us Disney fans truly do appreciate it. Thanks for the response, rdeacon!

My DW is a member of two other Disney boards and I can tell you Subsonic gets talked about quite a bit. We have people from many other boards who are coming here.

Right. Because when a new "feature" has unintended consequences, the best way to
solve the new issue is to keep heading in the same direction.

You know, I like the long ques, because I find that I am listening to a more diverse station. I usually just request what is in my treasures, so having other people requesting more allows me to expand my treasures.
There is so much to listen to and so little time!
