Light Magic was the parade at Disneyland in the summer of 1997. It was the replacement for the Main Street Electrical Parade, which had been retired the year before. Light Magic was not well received, and only lasted May through September of 1997, and was never shown at Disneyland again, or used at any other park.

I was working at Disneyland when Light Magic replaced MSEP. Light Magic just lacked the magic of other parades. It was also known as Light Tragic . The main problem was that it had show "stops" 4 times during the parade so it wasn't really a parade. In fact, the floats were "dark" when not at a stop, so those that were at a specific stop zone missed out on the main part of the show. It was a stupid idea and again seemed "on the cheap"

Ahh, another "Disney is going south" member! Yay!
It was pretty funny at the Cast Member preview of Light Tragic. There were a lot of "what the heck is this" blank faces.

the fantillusion parade has stops and yet it is good....but better if you see the stops...it is true...but the floats aren't dark if you don't see the stops..
