How to listen live on the android phones
It's simple, easy and free

1) Download and install a free app called droidlive.
2) Open your browser and go to the Subsonic website.
3) Open any of the streams and droidlive will play it.

The app also includes a scroll of the song information.

Wow thanks for the info. I am up for a new phone and was thinking about getting a droid. No subsonic was going to be one of the cons for it, but now it won't.

How do I get Subsonic on my touch? I just got one of those the other day for keeping myself entertained at the hospital. If I go to SLC, they said there's wi-fi in the patient rooms so now I don't have to drag my laptop all the way down there.

If you have OS 3.0 or later, you can launch one of the streams right off of the main page when on Safari. Otherwise, you will have to download one of those applications discussed in this thread from the app store.

How to check for OS version: Settings -> General -> About -> Version

I have had an iPhone 3G since end of July 2008. I am now eligible for an upgrade and my contract will be up within the next couple of months. I have not had much luck with the iPhone as I have gone through a few (to say the least). I did get my money's worth from the AppleCare. I am holding off until this summer to get a new phone. Supposed to be a lot of new stuff coming out.

I got to play around with droidlive a little bit this week and I must say I like it. Looks and works great. I don't recall if the other app I used did this, but the reconnection to the stream if the 3g signal drops briefly for some reason, works great!

So, out with the old and in with the new. :)
Thanks again Gonzo!

That looks really cool. I hope that one day there will be an official subsonic radio iPhone application.

I am doing some testing on an iPhone app right now at work that we are developing. Makes me wish I had the skills to get in there and develop something for all of us to use to listen to Subsonic. It wouldn't be hard at all...from watching our development guys here. I just don't have the tools or know-how.

All of the tools used to build an iPhone(or Mac) app are available for download, for free, on Apple's website.

Has anybody had a problem receiving incoming calls with their iphone when listening either to the subsonic stream or pandora? Sometimes mine just doesn't receive the calls and people tell me it goes straight to voice mail. I then have to reboot the whole phone to be able to get calls again.

It's been a while since I listened to Subsonic on my iPod Touch so I may get it back soon...whenever I tire of last.fm.
