Monorail Track - I might be crazy...

Post by jenhen27 » Jan Fri 18, 2008 10:58 am

... but I love the WDW resort monorail track! I think it's repeated itself now at least twice. I'm sitting at work drafting a letter for a client and it kind of makes me feel like I'm on the monorail riding around Bay Lake. It makes me happy. OK, I know I'm crazy but still... there's just something about this track that really puts me there. Now, if only I was there... :D

I love the monorail tracks, too. You're definitely not alone on that one!

I love the old monorail song (the instrumental one that sounds all 60s-idea-of-progress-y). I also like the Disneyland Monorail narration, because I know DL well enough to imagine the progress of the monorail along the track.
"Pretty soon we'll be underwater - I mean, underway."

"Careful of the little ones folks, if they latch on to you they'll bleed you dry for the next 18 to 24 years."

I love the DLR monorail song. I'll be sure to check out the WDW one soon.

I am a 'east coaster' and the Monorail song does nothing for me nor does the DLR monorail spiel. I almost ooze everytime I hear the WDW monorail spiels except the 1972 versions... Those almost make me laugh and they remind me of DLR. The only interesting part of the 1972 stuff is the fact they mention a hotel that was never built. :(

There are several Monorail tracks from different years. They can seem quite similar. That's always been a dilemma of mine. Should I keep tracks if they vary slightly? I go back an fourth between what I use and don't.

I'd also vote to keep the slightly different but similar tracks. It may be just because I've been a frequent WDW visitor but even the small differences seem significant to me. Like YZF says; different memories are jogged by the different versions. :)

You're definitely not alone, jenhen. I keep the various monorail tracks between sets of park tracks on my iPod, to add to the traveling feeling. Love 'em!

When I was in high school and taking Spanish, I made myself memorize the "please stand clear of the doors" part of the track, in Spanish. When I got back to school, I recited it to my teacher just for laughs.

Once I hear the monrail tracks I just think I am there, with all the different people, all going to the same place!

When I first saw this post I thought you were talking about how much you like the actual "track" - the cement beams. Ha ha!

that's not crazy at all! my hubby and i, before we found subsonic radio, found the monorail recording somewhere on the internet (i forget where) years ago.

he actually put it on our cellphones and for awhile we were using it as our ringtone and for text messages, etc. lol...

i'd be sitting at the office and all of a sudden everyone would be like "is that the monorail? where is that coming from?" haha...

it's a great track! really makes the brain feel a little bit of disney;)
