Does anyone have the listing of the songs that the Observatron plays in Tomorrowland of the DLR? I know it plays The Rocketeer from what laughingplace.com has said but it doesn't have anything else.

http://www.laughingplace.com/files/info ... rtain5.jpg <--That's what the thing looks like. It's located on top of the old Rocket Rods queue. I had no idea what it was until I googled it up on the images. I remember seeing it play music every fifteen minutes when I was in line for Space Mountain one time.

HAHAHA I actually have video of that finally. I have to post that, thanks for reminding me.

Um yeah the only song I have ever heard played was the Rocketeer song. I haven't heard any others yet.

Every time it plays, I keep wondering what the heck it is.

According to the GPS (Great and Powerful Subsonic) it is supposed to spin around look fancy then the dish at the very top goes from a contracted position to a expanded position and send a "signal" into outer space. But from my observations everyone looks at it because it is moving then can't figure out why it is moving. I will differ to the GPS on the rest, because he has some really cool ideas of what it should be.

My sisters thought the dish that sends the "signal" into outer space was a laser. It did look like one, which was pretty funny to me. And thank you for helping me out here! It's been bugging me since I first saw it spinning a few trips ago.

I worked there during the remake of '99 Tomorrowland. I remember a pamphlet that management handed out to inform Cast members about "what's in store". From what I remeber, "Every 15 minutes The observatron will come alive with lights and sounds sending out transmissions to any life out there". It was something to that extent with a bunch more glitz and extensive words. Like a lot of things in Tomorrowland, this was a disappointment. There should be lazers shooting all over Tomorrowland with positional audio all over the land. Make it like the Fredmont experience in Downtown Las Vegas. There's such amazing technology out there and Disney is worry about penny pinching instead of exceeding people's expectations.

As far as the original question goes. I don't know what's played there. :)

Remember what I told you when we met, with Laster and Iger working on stuff we my see more stuff like the Vegas thing in the future. They don't seem to be AS worried about the bottom dollar like Eisner was.

Well that's a bummer. I hoped it'd be like some sort of laser, extravagant type of show but it still amazes my sisters when the thing starts spinning.

Perhaps it would be more amazing if there were people on it?

They should put the astro orbiter up there and THEN add crazily moving lasers. How cool would it be to be flying around through multi-colored streaks of light?

This is only a guess, but if it plays the Rocketeer theme, maybe it has the same exact music loop as the Fountain of Nations? Either that or the Rocketeer is the only song it plays.

HA! i think that'd be funny to see if there were people on it. everyone would be fighting for the top to send the signal into space.
