Ever wondered how you could listen to SubsonicRadio on your TV without going out and buying a Special Device. Here is how.

If you own a Tivo and have it plugged into the home network download the free Tivo Desktop from Tivo.

Go into the Tivo Desktop and click on the add Music button.

Select the Stream you would like to listen to add the file to the list and your set.
Please Right-Click and select Save-As or your pc may Start to play the File. Turn on your TV and select the Music/Photos section of your Tivo Menus open your Computers Music folder. Click on the file and tell it you would like to listen. Next thing you will here is SR coming over your TV.

As a side note No Track info will come-up. I will be working on a way to display the track info if it is possible.

I prefer to split the audio out of my PC, run it to the stereo and pipe it through the whole house!

I have DirecTV DVR and a DirecTiVO, but the extra TiVo capabilities are not available on DirecTV versions of the system.

Sounds cool but why would one want to listen through Tivo? Just curious.

if anything, I listen through my 5.1 surround sound home theater system. I just hook my laptop up through the AUX port. works fine if I'm cleaning or something like that. If I close my eyes on some of the live tracks, it almost feels like I;m there, with the sound all around me...

Yeah I have that same sort of set up at home we have a media center here and so if I really feel like cranking up my laptop I will just go and plug it up to our main speaker system and it really gives you a sense of being at the park. The family gets a bit annoyed if I listen to it constantly that way... but hey it's disney at least it's peaceful music and not rock that would break the speakers in two lol

Here is why I do it. My Tivo is already hooked up to my sound system. No need for me to run any extra cords from my Laptop. So playing SR through my Tivo is just as if I had my Laptop plugged in. And since I own 3 Tivos (almost 1 per room) this makes it nice to throw on SR before I go to bed to send me into Disney dream heaven.

I find it a lot easier to just run my laptop through my big sound system. Soarin' sounds really good on speakers that are bigger than I am!

No Tivo here, but that's a very cool development. :)

My computer is hooked to my surround sound system. It runs through out the house. :D

In the past, I've tried connecting through Tivo's network settings to one of the stream's URLs--no luck in getting it working.

I will try this as soon as I get home tonight.

Thanks!

EDIT: At home and got it working. SR sounds much better on the home theater than the (my) computer speakers.

Yes very neat idea I do not have a Tivo but if I did I would probably do this because it would be hooked up to my surround sound system. When I get a computer upgrade I plan on hooking my computer directly into my tv and sound system.

Woot just hit 40 posts and became a B ticket holder! Thanks sub that just made my day :)

I Just wire it up to my iHome and have great Disney music in my house. It's like being in the parks while I clean!
