Soarin' Station

Post by Magique » Jun Tue 05, 2007 1:27 pm

I just noticed the new Soarin' station. So, I would guess it plays Soarin' Over California music? Out of curiosity, what was the reason for this station? Not complaining, just thinking it was sort of random.

I only listened to the station for a few minutes. Sounds like a good idea, but what about other attractions?

for those of you that can't get enough soarin'! Why request it when you can just tune into it? Consider it a lame on-demand system!

A user in the chat channel set it up for fun, I figured, "Why not show it in the list?"

How about ALL Rides all the time, or All Parades/Shows all the time??? Maybe they would be better on the Scheduled station.

I kind of like it. Is it going to play queue music also, or just the ride music over and over?

I like Soarin' music. I don't know if I could listen to it hour after hour, but it is nice to have the option when I don't care to listen to whatever is on the request or scheduled station.

So I've added Patrick's (Aka The Tick) pre-show flight safety talk.

It's just a bit short... it's from my personal archives.

I also ran them though iTunes to try and normalize the sound.

In Oct I might beable to grab a better recording.

The loop it plays Since someone asked is-
Queue (What you hear waiting in the queue)
Preshow (Patrick)
Loading Music (While you are getting on)
Ride with effects
Exit Music (Leaving music)
Loading Loop (same loading again)
Ride (a differed ride)
Soarin' (From Happiest Celebration on Earth CD)

The Tick? I know it was a cult following, but come on. Patrick has been Kronk from Emporer's New Groove/New School, Buzz Light Year (TV), Puddy from Seinfeld, and tons of other more recognizeable rolls.

How many people even remember the Tick?

I do! I remember it was on when I was little and my parents used to watch it. Unfortunately, all I can remember is the Tick's suit and that he had a sidekick that looked like a moth.

*raises hand*

Though to be fair, the live-action show pretty much deserves to be forgotten. The cartoon was much better, and the original comics were much better than that. And it'll be always Puddy doing the safety instructions to me, anyway. :)

that's cool, though I'd get sick of just soarin' the whole time, since I listen to this station most of the day...

Hey Subsonic - do you think it could open up the possibility of having an "easy listening" station that just plays background-type music (like I had mentioned in a previous post)?

My wife would agree with you. When i first saw the Preshow I was like "Hey it's the Tick" and her reaction can best be summed up by "What are you babbling about?"

Personally, I mostly remember him as Johnny Johnson from News Radio and The Tick. And now Patrick from Soarin'.

The Tick: I am the wild blue yonder. The front line in a never-ending battle between good and not-so-good. Together with my stalwart sidekick, Arthur, and the magnanimous help of some other folks I know, we form the yin to villany's malevolent yang. Destiny has chosen us. Wicked men, you face The Tick.
