Favorite song lyrics

Post by jbvenn » Apr Sun 08, 2007 2:25 pm

I was just listening and singing along to "A dream is a wish your heart makes," and just realized how moving the lyrics are. I tend to think of Disney song lyrics as a bit throw-away and corny, but the phrase, "no matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing; the dream that you wish will come true," really touched me. Maybe it's just my mood, but I just thought it was a really nice use of lyrics.

So does anyone out there in the SR community have favorite Disney song lyrics?

I'm partial to those lines as well, though I think my favorites come from Hercules. They've probably inspired me to get into a lot more difficult situations than I might have otherwise, but at least they were inspiring?

"I'll be there someday
I can go the distance
I will find my way
If I can be strong
I know ev'ry mile
Will be worth my while
When I go the distance
I'll be right where I belong."

I love the lyrics to the "Believe... There's Magic in the Sky" fireworks show... stuff about "a magic carpet ride" and "castles in the sky"... awesome.

Oh, always a speck of dust in my eyes when I hear, "...filled with pixie dust and princesses, our favorite Mousketeers..." or pretty much the entire Share A Dream Come True Song. Cheesy song, but ya gotta love it.
"A pirate in irons be full o' guile.
And the blackest 'art wears the broadest smile."

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

wow, I just heard colors of the wind from pocohontas and the last line is really powerful, "you can own the earth and still, all you'll own is earth until you can paint with all the colors of the wind"

When I'm in a good mood, I think of the song lyrics from Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah. They are very cheerful, even when it is a miserable day outside.

I like True Colors from the HISTA pre-show and Destiny from Mission space.

The original "One Little Spark" from Journey Into Imagination to name one. I also love the original "Space Earth" with Walter Cronkite. :mickey: :mickey:

Oh definitely. :) Those are powerful lyrics!

And basically, I'm echoing most of what everyone else has posted...

For an inspiring song, I agree. But the first song I thought of for favorite Disney lyrics were the Splash Mountain songs. Jeez, this is hard. I can't think of any right now.

Yeah, I think Zip-a-dee-doo-dah and even How Do You Do? lyrics pop into in my head often. :) They're pretty classic!
