I read about proposed changes to internet radio royalties here:
http://www.broadcastlawblog.com/archive ... lties.html
I believe they do not effect this station, since it is non-profit. Is that true? I hope so!
FWIW, I noticed a link to related PSAs here:

It is most definitely non-profit. Sub has said it many times. I don't blame him for not taking money for the site, because it is more of a hobby than a business, and we get to enjoy his hobby too.

Yep, it's reasons like this why I don't take money. But, there's been so many times where I've thought about it to improve the site. Recently, I've felt it's been in a rift. I haven't wanted to promote it on bigger sites because I don't think the current setup would be able to handle the traffic.

I wouldn't blame you for getting paid advertisements on the site, but as noted I think a lot more laws would apply to you.

Banner Ads!! I hate them so much, I can't believe I didn't notice them being absent here. The ones with sound, uggh.
They might be a necessary evil, but this site looks great without them. Don't do it if you don't have to!!!

The banner ad with sound that I hate the most is the one with the smilies that goes "HELLLOOO!!!!". Man I hate that one. Every time the guy I work with checks his myspace.com account I have to hear that. AH!!! it gets me every time.

I came across a pop-up that is in the web page... it doesn't open a new window nor a new tab, it just comes in front of the web page you're trying to access and displays an ad. I thought those were even worst because no pop-up blocker can block it.
And as far as the banners with sounds are concerned, ever though about the fact that those sounds and/or videos have to be uploaded, which increase the amount of bites that you upload in a month...

Wow. I never noticed there weren't any ads either! I hope it stays that way. I think it is more noticable when the ads are there.

I don't mind some ads if that is what is required to keep this awesome site running.

We'll never have ads, we can't, we'll lose the relays as well as Disney might come after me.

Has anyone from Disney contacted you about this site at all? Just wondering how they feel about this site.

Nobody in high places. Some employees have talked to me, but they are like regular listeners letting me know they like the site.

I'm curious, without giving names, what is the highest level Disney Employee that has talked to you about this site? Hourly, Supervisor, Manager, VP of Ops, VP of Parks, Al Weiss?
