Try alt.binaries.multimedia.disney.parks :)
You see a person who NEVER uses News groups would have know Idea what the Address does for me. Or even how to access it

Ahh, that's a different problem. It's not too difficult to learn and the amount of information on them is quite large. Here's a good tutorial: http://www.islandnet.com/~tmc/html/arti ... entnws.htm

Welcome to the site QuickGold. Nice sites you run.

I know of news groups but have only used them a few times. It usually takes me a while to remember how to get files, but when I do, it's pretty fast.

Maybe once I'm done sorting my gigs of unsorted music I'll take a look at the news group mentioned above.

Somewhere I think Sub mentions the kiosks around the parks from which park music could be purchased. Just found this old site about them: http://www.emuck.com/~rufus/forever/, FWIW...

Wow. Reading all this kinda got me wondering. Have I been brakeing the law. I have been following links and found a few sites that do not require membership or fees, and allowed me to download what they have. Not riping streaming audio, Disney theme park music they have obtain. They never mention the law. I still have some of the links if you want I will post them. Also my son was a cast member (college program) he purchased from disney, @ the park from a kiosk, the Main Street audio.

Ripping?

If you activate this program while listening to streaming audio, then yes. That would be considered stream ripping.

Basically, saving the material is considered ripping.

Buy it!

Hey man, Streamripper is awful. (I know this isn't going to make friends..)

It's bad for multiple reasons.

1) It encourages piracy, not just of Disney material, but all material. Sure you can tape record FM radio, but it's illegal. It's also illegal to tape your favorite movies off of HBO, it doesn't mean they will arrest you, but it is illegal. My brother in law is an entertainment lawyer and the legal amount of time you can copy your favorite shows or movies is less than two weeks.

2) It's bad for subsonic. Why? It eats up the bandwith of his servers. For example, I work for a post production company, we do Walt Disney World's commercials. We are HUGE fans of Disney and of Subsonic's site. However I am aware that there are only a few slots for a mass amount of people. We have a workstation here that listens to Subsonic Radio and the rest of the computers listen via shared iTunes, not his bandwith. So 20+ people here all share 1 connection of Subsonic. If everyone were to sit down and stream rip you would kill Subsonics bandwith.

I'm not trying to make people upset here, just trying to share some perspective. Subsonic made this site for Disney fans, it's free and consumes a lot of his time and effort. It's also questionable how he offers this material. If its broadcast for people to listen to, it's not necessarily illegal. If it turns into a place where everyone is ripping the files and essentially turning this site into Kazaa or IRC swap fests, then it is indeed illegal and the only person who gets in trouble is Subsonic. So lets keep this amazing radio station alive and well so we can all enjoy quite possibly the best Disney station around.
