Subsonic Radio

What I miss most of all with the "Remember dreams come true" soundtrack is the firework sounds. The booms and bangs of the firework explosions really make the music go (since they are sync'd a bit).

It would be nice if someone could get a really good live recording of this show and mix it with the soundtrack.

Yes, that would be very cool. I have been talking to Sub about getting a stereo recorder for just such a thing. I already have a mono recorder, but it's only good for voice recording.

Any of us with a stereo recorder should feel obligated to record as much live audio as possible on every trip to the park. Especially attractions that are set to close down, temporary shows, etc. Just for historical record. 8)

Let me see if I can get a copy of live stuff from my brothers camera. He recorded the fireworks at least 3 times and all I would have to do is record just the audio. Then I will upload it and if you like it use it. The quality will be somewhere around what the live boo to you parade 2005 is, that was his too. At one point he used a shotgun mic to record things which cuts out most of the crowd. I will write a note to ask him later today.

Here-here. I agree. I'm in the stone age when it comes to AV equipment and just last week ordered my first video camera since I now have a family (2 month old).

It will be a while before I get down to DL, and by that time I know remember won't be playing, so Dr. Ravenscroft -- it would be great if you are able to get the audio from your brother's camera. Let us know.

You should make a contraption where the microphones sit on either side of your ears. That way it'll sound the most realistic. That's what I plan to do if I ever get a recorder.

Why does this idea sound so silly to me? Just hold the recorder in front of you and don't turn it. I bet it sounds nearly identical.

I plan on just putting the recorder in the cell phone pocket of the backpack I'll be wearing. it's a messenger-style bag (tonly 1 strap that runs diagonally across my chest) and the cell phone pocket is right in the center. safe, secured, and centered. So, shouldn;t be a problem in getting the recordings. I also got great recommendations for a recorder that works for ambient sounds. so it's all good.

And when you do this take a picture, I think it will look interesting to say the least. Someone I worked with, back when I was at Sam Ash Music, bought a RODE nt4 microphone. It is a stereo mic and has two........well it would be easier to show you


There are two problems with it.

1. You need another device to record onto most likely a harddrive recorder of some sort.

2. The rig is large enough to be noticed by Disney security, and can't look to professional or they will ask you to stop or leave.

Oh and there is a third thing, the mic itself is $449.

It shure as heck didn't look like that 4yrs ago, it was kind of a dull brushed aluminum. But yeah when I first saw the mic I thought the same thing, and yes I did the noise when I picked it up.

Man, I think anyone with the slighest bit of the Star Wars Bug would think it. Especially if they've looked around online for the sites that show you how to build your own lightsaber.... Not that i've done that or anything.... Ok well, but I haven't actually built one, I just thought it look neat. Don't judge me.
