Looking for more moderators

Post by subsonic » Apr Thu 20, 2006 11:43 am

Subsonic Radio is becoming a more active community. We need more help.
I'm looking for people who have shown themselves to be active in the forums and in a mature manner. Applicants need to be familiar with PHPBB and have good common sense as to how to handle and take care of conversations. I have some people in mind already but want to hear from people who are interested. Obviously. this is a "volunteer" job. After all, this whole site/station is made by volunteers (ME!).

I plan to set up moderators for specific sections. Please reply as to which section you are interested in. There's no need to state why you would be qualified, those I pick will be people who I have seen proving themselves. But, if you feel that you need to give more reasons, please do so. Those I don't pick, don't feel bad. I still love you all!

Sub--

I'd be interested, if you're really desperate. I know I sometimes rant and rave, but I'd be happy to lend a hand. My only concern is that I'm probably not as familiar with PHPBB as others.

Hey sub, I got no problem helping out... I've both modded and admined phpBB and phpBB2 in the past (as well as other forum software).

I'd be interested in modding for "Disneyland Resort," "Trip Planning & Reports," and "Anything Else"... not as interested in the station/site-specific forums (sorry!) or the off-topic convos.

Or, if not, that's cool too. Whatever works!

Hi Sub,

I would be willing to volunteer as a Moderator for the Walt Disney World section.

I do not know PHP, but I am a programmer (primarily LabVIEW), so I imagine I can pick it up relatively easily.

Aaron

Thanks so far, I'm joting down a list and will approach each of you individually when I have made my decisions.

phpBB has nothing to do with knowing php :) There's simple built in interfaces to help control threads and edit/delete posts.

I'd be happy to help with any of the station forums, especially General or Requests.

I've set up phpBB's so I know my way around, and you know I am pretty geeky in my knowledge of obscure tracks.

I would be willing to help as well, though either you have done an amazing job thus far (as I don't remember seeing anything that needed mod'ing), or I just havent been enough of a lurker to find them in time. ;)

I'll be contacting those interested shortly. Those that are newer to the forums will not be selected, but I'll be keeping an eye on. :)

Which categories are you interested in?
As far as categories to moderate, I think it would be best to split them up as
News & Misc
Station / Site
Disney (Everything excluding WDW & Disneyland)
Disneyland
WDW

Those I didn't pick I'll be keeping an eye on.

Thanks everybody.
