iOS Update

My iPhone App updated last night. I love the new look and interface. However, the app no longer plays music when I turn off the screen. Is there a way to remedy this? I use this app a lot for background music and I don't want to leave me screen "on" all day.

From what I read, this is a known issue that won't get resolved for now because Scott (the developer) isn't able to work on it right now.

I agree it's a little annoying and makes it hard to use, but hopefully we'll get a fix eventually. I have a buddy at work who does some iOS development in his free time, so I may see if he can help out. He's also a WDW nut, so I'll use that to my advantage when trying to convince him. ;)

Also, the timer is gone! I can't use it to fall asleep to any more :(

Same for me I miss having the background station playing on a timer as I go to sleep.

I agree with this. I'm glad to see this posted. I posted in the bug area, but nobody responded. Thanks for posting all!

App update is nice, a little clearer than the old iOS screen size for the newer devices (still a little fuzzy on Plus phones)

Anyway... I wondered why I could hear any music, then realised that my phone was on mute.
Has that always been the case? I don't ever remember taking my phone off mute to listen in the past. (phone is constantly muted because of work).

My workaround for the IOS app stopping when the screen times out is to play the streams through the web page. It's a bit of a pain, but it works.

I've been using the web page to stream for a while since it's actually not that bad. It also allows you to pause and play from the lock screen.

New app looks amazing! So clean and fresh! Also love that when you have time to fix the timeout issue I can see the song on my lock screen.

I'll put my two cents in for background playing and sleep timer. I miss going to sleep to Wedway! :)

In case you don't follow the Subsonic Facebook group, from a post:
An update to the Subsonic Radio app for iPhone is in for review right now, with background audio support.
ETA: Speak of the devil: the App has been updated! Background works and it seems to respond to the iOS timer "Stop Playing" function, so the sleep timer functionality is there as well.

On the other hand, the updated app has a lot more information about what's playing on the various channels. I really appreciate that since it makes it much easier to choose and also encourages exploring channels that I might not choose otherwise. :)

Question for the subs (related to my post above): would it be possible to expand the track listing to the Futureworld and Dole Whip channels? It would be nice to know what's playing on them when choosing what channel to listen to.

Yes. I noticed on my update that the issue was resolved. Yay! I've never tried to use it to go to sleep by. I'll have to look at the workaround and see if I can get it to work.

Thanks for all the information and replies.

:D

Just bumping this. Update to iOS 10.3.2 today and the app no longer functions. Just kicks out to your home screen when pressing the + button to start a stream.
