I like it. sounds great and all. however, it seems like the "stop" and "exit" buttons on the player window do not work, as when I pressed them nothing happened. hell, the "X" button to close it didn't even work. I had to right-click on the tray icon and click exit to get it to stop. Also, it doesn't seem to update the song as the song changes (when you click "play" to see what song is playing and wo requested it). Could that pop-up to say what the song is be closer to the player rather than all the way in the top left corner of the screen? that was kinda annoying having to look there rather than around the player window...

i'll take a look. I have it so it will not close if you have the pop-up open. Wait just 15 seconds after hitting the exit button and it will do it. I'll run more test tomarrow

I actually waited about half an hour and it did nothing. I thought at first it was just this comp (it's been acting funny lately). But, when I tried it on a different comp, it did the same thing.

Post by kapper1965 » Oct Fri 28, 2005 10:53 am

is there any other player for mac that i can use? right now i am using itunes, which seems fine, but what i would love is to see the current playing track. currently it seems cumbersome to run itunes and my browser. any suggestions?

thanks.

you don't need to run a full browser window all the time. There is a standalone version of the "Now Playing" window. it can be found in a couple of threads as well as on the "Now Playing page. outside of that, only Eagle's player would show that, and you need Macromedia Flash in order to use it.

None of my players require Macromedia or any other software they are full standalone software. (though as far as i know Never tested on a mac)

once I release my 2.0 version of the 128k stream than the now playing will be apart of the whole player.

it's a flash player, right? if so, Flash is a product of Macromedia. at least, as far as I've seen, correct me if I'm wrong (which I often seem to be when it comes to programming/programs).

It is created with flash but does not require flash to use the program. it is its own player

Okay now version 2.0 is out here are the changes
Download Now
  • 1. Now Playing Button Shows Current Song and Who requested it
    2. Also at anytime if you want to see what song is playing, Press F7 (even when Minimized)
    3. Will not allow for 2 players to be open on the same pc at the same time
    4. The F8 still minimizes
    5. The F9 still Maximizes (Does not Display Song as in 1.5)
    6. This Version includes a SR logo for the Icon
    7. If 128k stream goes down it will kick into the 64k stream as a back-up
    8. Has a installer just open the SRP2.0_setup.exe file and it will install for you
    9. More colorful than the last version
I Think thats it

Please Please Please let me know what you think.

Hope you enjoy it.

Cool player. The only thing is when I press the "now playing" button, the pop up comes up right behind the player, and then the player can't move. But if you move the player to the side, and then see what's playing, it's all right.
