back in late 2003 there was a Disney music site Theme Park One which had a shoutcast channel called TPO Radio. I liked it better than the Live 365 channels because there weren't any commercials.

When TPO Radio started shutting down in early 2004 I remember being told about a new site that would sort of take the mantle. Hence I am proud to have been a Subsonic listener since launch month.

I have a livejournal account and was reading a Disney community where someone had asked about Disney music online; like me, the person only knew of the live365.com stations. JS had mentioned Subsonic and the rest is history!

:figment:
which community was this? I don't recall posting anything on any community like that, but I may have back in the day...
I don't remember; this was back in early 2007. I'm just thinking it might've been you since you have/had an LJ account.

I found subsonic radio through google I believe. It's been like 3 years since I joined and I just remember that I used to always make these mixed CDs of Disney BGM and Rides of any audio that I collected. I would always listen to it in the car/bathroom/room that I eventually just had too many cds on my hand. SO I decided to see if there was radio stations playing Disney BGM online and I found 365.com stations first but I hated the commercials if you didn't pay extra for it. So I think I just randomally stumbled upon this amazing website and haven't left since.....:)

I found it because one day I told myself, "Self, you love theme park music. You're gonna start collecting it since you don't have any other hobbies." And then the search began. 750 tracks so far! Couldn't help but run into this site during my searching.

And like Chesire Cat said, "I heard the original JII for the first time since they closed it." That's when I became a Subsonic junkie too! I literally got tears in my eyes when it came on (I think it was my first request). I had to close the door to my office, and I sat at my desk and smiled and smiled and smiled!!!!!!!!

I was looking for Disney Music and used to listen to live365, but somehow stumbled across Subsonic. Glad I did :D Even if I do get 'abused' by new 'friends' in chat, it's fun.

I had been listening to live365 radio and even was a VIP subscriber (at the discount rate they give you at first). They had just recently charged my card again for an amount twice what it was the first time and I was disappointed. The live365 stations are ok, but very predictable in what they will play next.

I was reading a forum on a podcast site and someone mentioned subsonic as their disney park radio of choice, so I came over here and immediatly fell in love with the music quality and the selection, as well as being able to request music myself! I joined and began requesting that day! I also eventually canceled my live365 VIP and they are still trying to get me back today!

Thats funny....i was turned to the whole concept of theme park audio by live365.com. I too got sick of all the commercials and found this. Havent been back since!

Although im grateful to have listened to 365 because that also tuned me in to Inside The Magic. So i guess it wasnt all too bad!

I was googling for a particular track, "Tomorrows Child", for a friend of mine.
Subsonic came up in the search and, although I couldn't download the music I wanted, I liked the site so much I signed up.

Most people find it's not "so" bad that they can't download tracks. Also, I think some people like the feeling of a community.

I found subsonic through a friend on another disney site. He recommended it, and I have been a devoted listener ever since. :) - blue

I was drug and clubbed in the head. When I woke-up I was here, slaving away in Subsonic's forum, for scraps of music. :D

But seriously, according to my First post ever I found it because I was looking for the Boo to You Parade. I now have it due to the Special Events CD Disney put out about a year ago, and yet I'm still here.
