It all depends on the size of your pipe. It doesn't bother me at all in the office, but when I'm on dial-up, it's a little annoying waiting for it to reload, particularly since it doesn't really add anything to the site once you've seen it a few times. Just my opinion, of course.

Sub, I was definitely not referring to your use of Flash here. What I meant is that there are plenty of examples out there of overreliance on Flash, or of improper optimization techniques, etc.

And Schnemo... dialup? Join the 00's! ;-D
