Re: Why do you like listening to Theme Park Audio?
I agree with everything that everyone has said previously. Now for me who lives down in Central Florida and works for Disney. I enjoy listening to the older tracks that I can't listen too anymore when visiting the parks. I still enjoy current tracks on here, mainly BGM tracks
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I listen because now that I'm older, I've heard all the 70's, 80's and 90's music thousands of times each and just don't have any enthusiasm for the music "I grew up with" anymore.
I listen because Disney World is a good memory for my family and sometimes a song will take me back to a particular place we enjoyed in the parks.
I listen because some of the songs are just awesome (The Soarin mix for example).
I listen because it takes me away from the news I hear everyday about recession, how high gas prices are, what has went wrong today in the world.....I just gotten too old to want to hear about that stuff anymore. I'd much rather fill my day something positive and upbeat

Just joined and so excited. Listening takes the edge of waiting for the next trip to get here. We have also had such wonderful experiences that sometimes i can close my eyes and listen to a certain area loop and almost smell the popcorn and feel the warmth on my face. Kinda sappy but just love it!

If you live in a warmer climate, you could pop a bag of popcorn, go outside and let the sun shine on your face while listening to Subsonic...less stress on the brain that waydisneyshelley wrote:Just joined and so excited. Seriously, I know what you mean though, the music can transport you almost instantly

Unfortunately, I live in a colder climate area (Buffalo, NY), so I don't have the luxury of doing the above post...not yet at least...probably not for another 3 months! Anyway, I love listening to theme park audio because I pretty much eat, sleep, and breathe WDW. I have a ton of maps, VHS, DVDs, books, etc on WDW and just can't get enough! I love to be able to hear the tunes that take me to my happy place when I can't physically be there. Absolutely love this site.

My favorite is the yesterland stuff. Sometimes I'll tune into scheduled on Fridays and hear all this great music and then realize, "Oh yeah, those are my picks". haha

Right now I'm listening to the entire Wonders of Life loop and spent a lot of time looking at photos of the pavilion instead of working on my paper, which is due in a few hours. Time well spent if you ask me. Brought back many memories, especially the photos with people wearing 90's clothing. Thanks, Subsonic.

Disneyshelly and Lonepalm,
I can appreciate your opinion. It's very interesting that Disney affects a large percentage of the people who visit there is an almost religious way. My story: I HATED all things Disney until my wife forced me to go on a Disney trip to which I honestly said: "I'll go and put on an act for the kids but know that I'm hating every minute of it." What a jerk. So anyway we went to Disneyworld and on the first night ate at Cosmic Rays and I thought "Man, they really put a lot into a fast food place." The next day we went to Hollywood Studios and I thought "Holy cow, what a lot of work into their rides before you even get on the ride." I said this before I know the meaning of the word "Queue". So, long story short, by the end of the week I was neck deep in my love for Disney. Since then we have directly helped 6 other families plan their trips. I was a finalist for the Moms panel last year and we just love Disney more than I can say...anyway, I always find it interesting that Disney effects people in that way whereas you don't hear that dedication when you talk about other parks.

I videotaped just about every trip I took to Disneyworld. The background music always adds to the atmosphere. Listening to it makes me wish I was there!! Certainly it's the memories.
Re: Why do you like listening to Theme Park Audio?
I love the music, reminds me so much of being there, and I can't wait to make another trip, it's been 11 years!

I love the "reliving moments" the recordings bring to my family. We listen to the SpecroMagic parade and it brings tears to our eyes. The sound of Disney World is my HAPPY PLACE when I'm stressed at work. It's funny how even the recording from the transit buses from Caribbean Beach resort give me and my family the warm fuzzies.

That's one of the best parts. The "stupid" stuff like boarding spiels or safety spiels.jougdones wrote:![]()

Oh gosh yes. I *LOVE* the safety spiels and the loading/unloading spiels. The ones I always request the most (besides the Sci-Fi diner and Cosmic Ray's) are always the monorail spiels. I could listen to those every day all day I am sure!!!!

Re: Why do you like listening to Theme Park Audio?
I like it for a lot of reasons. For one, Disney just makes a lot of good music - I love, love those long area/loop tracks. Plus it's a nice change from listening to my normal music.
But, like most of you here, I mainly listen to it when I'm going through those Disney withdraws (which happens to be 365 days of the year, by the way.
).
