Haha. You were definitely right. It made me cringe. I didn't turn it off though, because it was my first time listening to it, and I wanted to leave it on to hear the whole thing.
"Mom?"
"<i>Yeah?</i>"
"We really need to try Mission:SPACE first."
"<i>It doesn't matter, Heather.</i>"
"What?"
"<i>It doesn't matter.</i>"
"IT DOES MATTER!"

As a new listener, it was disappointing to find several 14-18 minutes tracks right in a row. As much as I am enjoying the ride thrus, etc., several long ones in a row are a bit much. jmho
And now that I think about it, I am wondering if I have come in during part of scheduled music and not a request time.

Yeah, that can happen sometimes. Don't be disappointed. People will request those songs and entire rides because that's what they want to listen to. If you don't want to listen to it, you can just mute the volume until something you like comes back on. I never do that though, I always leave the music on no matter what is currently playing. But that's just me, and I like the ride throughs. And you're right, several long ones in a row can get kind of annoying.

I've never had a problem with the Epcot songs. I like the eighties style they have to them. Actually, I really like the Epcot songs. It puts me in a good mood and makes me feel like I'm really there. But all the songs that are played make me feel that way, heh.

I reason why I say that is because I have never been to the Walt Disney World resort. I have never been out of California. So I can't put the music to rides since I haven't seen them, plus I'm a child of the Eighties and in my town you get kinda sick of a lot of eighties songs. (I like some but not all)Siriuslydead wrote:I've never had a problem with the Epcot songs. I like the eighties style they have to them. Actually, I really like the Epcot songs. And I did say some not all.

I wasn't trying to say that you didn't like them at all, sorry if it came off that way. And now I understand why you don't like some of the EPCOT songs. It's the same reason I don't really care for some of the DL songs. I've never been to DL, and I have been going to WDW all of my life. So I can understand your reason.AlexLoup wrote:I reason why I say that is because I have never been to the Walt Disney World resort. I have never been out of California. And isn't it nice dear friends, that we have the Subsonic forums to bridge the gap between DLR and WDW!?
I totally understand the thing about not being able to connect with songs from other Disney theme parks. I have only been to WDW three times, and initially didn't enjoy the EPCOT tracks. But now they've just grown on me...most of them that is.

Same here. I've only ever been to Disneyland, but some of the Epcot and WDW songs are great! I'll listen for a while and often end up with some song stuck in my head, but I'm not sure where it came from. Then a few days later I'll hear it and discover it's from Epcot, or something. Some of my current favorites are from parks I've never been to.Lion Sleeps Tonight wrote:But now they've just grown on me...most of them that is.

I love the Spaceship Earth tracks! But that's just me. And I agree with you on the Animal Kingdom songs.AlexLoup wrote:Yeah, it is nice to hear the World Showcase in EPCOT, but it's the music for like Spaceship Earth (?) taht I don't care for. The Animal Kingdom music is great.

dreaded tunes
I agree...Animal Kingdom tracks are some of my favorites, too. I also love most all of the Epcot tunes--some of them do have that 80s sound, but I've always been a sucker for that synthetic sound!
