I totally agree. I'd love for them to change WDI back to WED, just as I'd like to see the TTA go back to being the WEDway People Mover. Of course, I guess that I lean toward being a traditionalist when it comes to many things associated with WDW. I actually don't mind the creativity that the Pixar team can add, because it could bring fresh ideas that work.

The Imagineers definitely need a shot in the arm, so I don't at all mind the Pixar guys helping out, but if they add Buzz and Woody to the Imagination pavilion, I'd rather they just leave it alone. Still cautiously optimistic...

I start optomistic everytime I hear about changes to the pavilians and additions to the park. I try to keep an open mind and not agree with other people's opinions until I've seen the changes myself. Many times these changes are for the best, like randomizing the drops on ToT (great move), but once in a while you get JII without Figment. That's just wrong. Now hopefully if there are changes to the Imagination pavilian it will come out great. But it seems to me that they've already changed this pavilian 3 times? And they keep making changes because they're trying to recapture the magic that the original Imagination had. The thing that worries me is that they'll do what they did with WoM and Horizions and change the pavilian completely.

It'd be interesting to see what a new set of creative eyes would make of an attraction based upon the broad theme "imagination." In some ways, I think this is the core problem with the attraction. The idea of spotlighting "imagination" sounds good but there are as many different opinions on what that means as there are riders.

I liked Figment as a personification of imagination, but some of the stuff in the original ride seemed like they were just there to take up space. Remember Figment holding the blocks that said "cat" --- "bat"?

It may be difficult to define what imagination is, but I think the orginal version of the ride pulled it off nicely. There was so much eye candy inside of the ride that everytime I went on I saw something new.

Also how much space did the Figment with the blocks really take up?

I thought the Figment block/shadow trick was cool. The ride was all about abstract thought, so I thought it fit in nicely.

More importantly, the original attraction was about how everything in the rest of Future World (and human development in general) started with people willing to think outside the box. The new attraction is all about trying to inflict imagination upon the riders.

So, instead of a request to the audience to please use your brain once in a while, because it's fun and important, the new ride tells the audience to sit quietly and let Disney imagine for you.

It's a fundamentally insulting and depressing change.

Wow, I never thought about it that way. Seems a bit pessamistic about the images that Disney is trying to create.

The original Journey Into Imagination was the BEST!! WIll always be the BEST!! And, yes Captain EO is the BEST!! There are times that change isn't always what it is cracked up to be. Bring back Dreamfinder and Figment.

Michael Jackson wasn't quite the freak he is today when Captain EO came out - it was brilliant at the time and it's great to relive it here. By the way, is anyone else here TOTALLY over Honey I Shrunk the Audidence? I'm really ready for a new 4-D movie there.

When you figure how long ago the original Honey I Shrunk the Kids came out... 1989?... it goes to show how over-due they are for a new film. When did they put in Audience? 1993 or so? 14 years is a long time for a film like that to stay in... it's not a cool, trendy movie anymore.

I think that's a very good point. It is too bad I never saw the original in person. I've seen a youtube video of it and it looked really cool! Better then what I saw when I went (where mirrors judge your imagination).
