This is a cool site (though I agree with Sub - lots of clicking required). I found some of the information she had that wasn't pictures interesting too; specifically the alternate ideas for Fantasyland in WDW. She doesn't cite sources, so I dunno where her information comes from, but as much as I loved Mr. Toad, I would have killed for a Sleepy Hollow ride. (Well, maimed maybe. Still.)

Ha, those pictures were awesome, I wish I could step back in time, see what DL was like when it first opened. Things just seemed simpler then.....

Wow, that is a great site. I agree that the rabbit is a bit scary. I was wondering though, what is that rabbit supposed to be? Br'er rabbit? It can't be from Alice in Wonderland, that rabbit was white.
Anyone know for sure?

That rabbit DOES look very scary. Also, I know Brer Fox was a Disney character but seeing his costume in pictures was pretty terrifying to see.

I enjoy looking at these pictures because they let me see what WDW was before I was born. It's amazing to see how much some things have changed and how some things have remained the same.

I think it is Alice as the woman looks like she's dressed like Alice?

That would be wierd if it was Alice... since the rabbit should be white.. but I guess mascots were so new then that people didn't care??

My first time going to DL was in 1960, but I was only 2 at the time. But we went twice a year from 1960 till I left California in 1977. I was very fortunate to have seen Disneyland in what I consider to be at it's best. Yes there are new attractions now, but nothing compares to when the People Mover was there, etc. And the park always seemed clean and bright and updated (maintenance wise). I have mentioned before they even had mule rides, I think it was where BTM is now. But alas my memory isn't the only thing going...ha ha ha
That is one reason I love looking at pics and articles on Yesterland.com because I go "I REMEMBER THAT!"
I still LOVE DL and I don't think I will ever fall out of love with it

Those pictures bring back a flood of memories! I remember my Mom and step Dad taking me to WDW in 1975 (both are deceased now)! Those were great days, I just wish I knew how great at the time!!
