Well in simple terms it's an open standard version of MP3.

The more complex answer is Ogg is a container format, like real media. And one of the things it can contain is audio in Vorbis format, which lossy audio compression (same as MP3.)

Vorbis-Ogg is suppose to be better sound quality, and use less bandwidth. Basiclly better in all ways.

ok thanks i will stick to "basically better in all ways...."

i have the impression that there's only one loop on the new soarin' link, is it normal ? (there were several loops in the previous stream, including several loops from the queue music....)

Nope is the same play list, I just scp`ed the files over. Same 10 tracks in both loops.

I know this was probably said somewhere, but will the Soarin' station reappear on Subsonic or will it just be a separate stream? Anxious to see a great station return.

Well right now you can use the links I posted earlier to select it.

Sub, and maybe his monkey, may need to update the web page to pull the listeners off the server.

indeed it works, but weirdly it opens on windows media player on my computer, while all other streams have always opened on winamp

you may need to just copy the link, then put the URL into winamp to listen there. To do that:

-Right click on the link you want, choose "Copy Shortcut" from the menu
-Open Winamp, go to File - Play Url (keyboard shortcut CTRL-L)
-Paste the URL into the box and click "OPEN".
-the stream should start playing.
