The wonderful world of color sound recording

Post by michael david magoo » Sep Mon 10, 2007 11:06 pm

:) Back in the 50s or 60s, Disneys weekly show had a little tune at the beginning, in color, and the tune went something like this ---- The world is a treasure trove of faces, fabulous are away places, of hopes and of fears, of joys and of tears, ---- and so on. It was only about a minute long, being the introduction to the hour long show. I grew up with that show, loved it and still love it to this day.

I have typed in several ways to request the song, but it does not come up. I would very much like to hear it again, for old time sake. If any of you know of this song, PLEASE respond and let me know, where can I hear it, or get it to upload it, (which I have no idea how to do).

Thank you for your time.

Mike

I have the song (I think it's the one you're describing). It's called "Wonderful World of Color." It's on a boxed set called "The Music of Disney: A Legacy in Song." I don't know if it is still available anywhere.

It probably wouldn't be appropriate for this site since it isn't related to a theme park, so even if Sub has it, he might not put it on the playlist.

It is a great song, and brings back memories of many happy hours spent with Uncle Walt.

yeah, I've seen this song available on the web (not here). It was sung by Ludwig Von Drake, right?

I think you're thinking of The Spectrum Song. Ludwig Von Drake sings about mixing colors to make new colors. This is the song that opened "Wonderful World of Color" back in the 50s/60s. The CD for Legacy in Song credits The Wellingtons.

ahh, ok. I know I saw at least 1 or 2 files marked "wonderful world of color", and I know one of them was Ludwig Von Drake. I just couldn't remember what the songs were called...

That is a great nostalgia track. If only Vault Disney were still on late nights! We could hear it almost every night! :(

Regardless if we have it. The track will probably not make it in as it's not played in a park or cruise.

Also not to be missed is The Ludwig Von Drake - Wonderful World of Color album and the Mickey Mouse Club TV Soundtrack album, both available for download on iTunes.
