Saddest track?

Post by rudekick » Apr Sat 15, 2006 5:10 pm

I know there's a thread for "Track you Dread Hearing," but what is the track that makes you the saddest?

For me it's a no contest: a musical history of disneyland - disc 5 - 09 closing

When I was growing up I used to use an expression: "That's sadder than leaving Disneyland." No matter how great a trip is, there are few things that make me sadder than leaving the park for the last time at the end of a trip to Anaheim.

For me, it's the "Two Brothers" segment from "American Adventure." I also get sad hearing "Golden Dreams" with the exerpts from JFK and MLK speeches; I get sad thinking about the great people who were taken from us too soon.

You know, I didn't think there was a song that made me sad, until jbvenn mentioned "Two Brothers" That's gotta be the saddest song. Heck, it's specifically about people dying.

Hmmmm...okay - rather than be a heartless person, I'm changing my answer!

If this thread was changed to "songs that make you cry" it could be America. That whole show (American Adventure) is one long set-up for an emotional finale (especially Jim Henson in the montage - I am really glad they stuck him in there).
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I agree with Two Brothers and other segments of AA, but I also have to say Horizons, World of Motion, and some of the One Little Spark music makes me sad in a nostalgic way.

Saddest track

Post by SimonTemplar » May Wed 17, 2006 3:53 pm

Maybe it's not technically "sad", but I have a low tolerance for the loop track from Epcot's China pavilion. After a while I have to turn it down until a new tracj comes up. As for sad, a lot of the ride audios make me sad that I'm not there in person.

There's topics for talking about tracks you don't like. We mean "sad" as in emotionally feeling memories and such as opposed to "sad that a track I don't like came on"

Hmm, emotionally sad songs... Can't really think of any. "Two Brothers" is a sad song, but it doesn't hit me. I'll have to think about this. There are some songs that make me teary-eyed for joy as well.
