Re: Why do you like listening to Theme Park Audio?
I don't know if there is a science to it but Disney music seems to hit the Happy zone in my brain. I don't need memories(They are great) any disney music just plain makes me happy.
I think it is a universal thing. I would play subsonic and other disney music when I was a nanny. Many times I would have to mask it or play the "not so reconizable" tracks so that I would not get in trouble. The family I nannied for did not like disney. Their shild had not been exposed to any of it until me. Even with no exposure the music would calm him and make him happy!!!

Sneaky ~ but I like it A lot of the music is pretty much classical in nature so I'm sure they probably didn't notice...Mamabaminjamin wrote:I don't know if there is a science to it but Disney music seems to hit the Happy zone in my brain. Re: Why do you like listening to Theme Park Audio?
Mostly because of the great memories I have from our family visits. The sense of joy from all the great times on site. It is also great to hear the different audio versions from year's past and from holiday themed rides. The ones that come to mind are the Nightmare Before Christmas version of Haunted Mansion, the original version from the Tiki Lounge and the Pirates of the Caribbean.
I have yet to get the audio versions for my own library but plan to do so. Last time at the park, I saw the 4 cd set of 4 parks 1 world and thought "are you kidding me??" and laughed. Now I regret not picking it up..
I have a colleague who has LP versions from the eighties. I plan on borrowing them from her to record to mp3.

Absolutely agree.. Since I found subsonic, I haven't listened to a daily of Phantom....Disneyfan wrote:Now you hit on my other passion. I love listening to Andrew Lloyd Webber productions. I think I have most of the modern ones memorized.

Because it reminds me of great times at Disney World with my wife and three children. Those were hectic but great times. Now that I'm older and my children are adults, it brings back fond memories.
Hope you have a great day

It reminds me of the fun, excitement, and relaxtion I have when visiting the Disney theme parks. Especially when I need to relieve stress. I love it and I'm extremely happy I am able to relive those moments. It generally sets the tone for my days now.

What about Subescapism? After all, we're escaping through Sub to our "happy places".Amy wrote:I like it! I've been trying to get the LP versions for years now.

My job can be quite stressful at times and I like to play WDW park music to put me in a "Happy Place". Certain music will take you to a place and what better place to be than in WDW. Besides I just like the music.

It gets me ready for my next trip, and reminds me of my last one!

For my family even though we are not far from the parks we do not get to go very often. We listen SUbsonic for providing the 24 hour a day comfort of Disney!

Re: Why do you like listening to Theme Park Audio?
I'm online quite a bit for work and in leisure time too, so it's nice to get a Disney fix from this site! Always loved the park music and definitely enjoy it at home.
Used to listen here all the time, but my computer stopped being able to play any of the feeds probably a year and a half or so ago (old, pitiful computer that it was). So (thanks to a new computer!) I'm even more excited now to get to hear it all once again!

It makes me feel at home, in another world, relaxed, among other feelings. I could listen to theme park audio for hours on end and never get sick of it.
