Jumping to specific thread pages

Do things get decide on just words or will ideas be censored? Is the BIG MOUSE going to be watching us? Where does it stop? Will we still be allowed to disagree with site admins or Disney for that matter. Once you start writing censorship into programs you slip down that slope really quick.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the need for some limits. It's just where are those limits and what is the criteria for them? Will we just have to guess or will they be stated. Yes I do understand this is a private site and Sub can make any rules he wants. I would just like to know the rules.

I'm absolutely sure I've broken the rules in a few of my post. I've even have flagged myself and have asked to have post deleted. It's has got then better since a certain mod/admin has not been here to decide what we should be talking about and how.

I would just like to see the rules posted somewhere so we can read them. I'm an AMERICAN and rail against censorship!

I think I broke my soapbox! ;+>

Chill, dude - I think you're getting carried away. I think they're just trying to block profanity. If they could block the rest of it, Len would have already done it some time ago - remember, Len, we pick on you because we love you.

I sometimes go into these ethical rants about Big Brother. It's ironic though. Some of the biggest trends in my business is CCTV surveillance. In that case, I facilitate Big Brother!

Just to answer a few questions... The "report post" feature that I talk about is a little button that will appear below each post in forum. This allows ANY MEMBER on the board the ability to notify the moderators/administrators of any sort of post that the person feels is inappropriate/offensive.

I am unaware of the profanity filter on the site since I have never tried posting any foul words on here. That is something that will need to be answered by somebody higher up then me. However, keep in mind that this site does have to be kept family friendly and unfortunately that does mean some censorship. I personally feel that the mods/admins have done a great job in keeping the site at a balance in the year and a half that I have been here.

As for the forum rules: These are the rules that we all swear to upon signing up. Those are found over here: viewtopic.php?t=944

Now Jacca, let's get some duct tape and fix up your soap box!

So instead of "Sticking it to The Man", you're giving "The Man" the stick?

Although this thread has gone violently off-topic; I just thought I'd point out you don't need a mod for this. If you don't like your post just hit the "Edit" button and delete it all and leave a message like "Sorry, edit" no harm no foul.

To put us back off topic for just a minute.... I think the admins decide what is a four-letter word. I posted on here and used the word H-E-double hockey sticks. Within a couple of hours I had a little wrist slap message in the inbox telling me to keep it clean and that the word in the post had been edited to "heck".
