Calling Eagle4life69

Post by jkm8113 » May Tue 10, 2005 9:25 am

My IT guy is here today and he said he is going to open up the port on the network for me so I can listen to streaming radio at work, if he can determine which one it is.

My question is would it be a certain port on each and every network or could it be different? Is there anything I can tell him to help facilitate the process?

my best guess is port 8000-8006 most of our relays use 8000 I use 8004 and the 24k uses 8006 so 8004 wouldn't be that bad.

Also I wonder if when you connect it wants another port open for the talk back. Try port 8004 and that should do it.

heck you could always relay from work if he giving you a port to work with

Surely he'd need the port opening for inbound traffic to relay, rather than the outbound he's likely opening, for connecting to the stream ;)
