Re: World of Motion vs. Test Track

^I always thought the end scene should have had animatronics...it just begged for them! Oh, and World of Motion all the way! I loved that ride as a kid and just can't seem to get attached to Test Track. As always, bring back Horizons, World of Motion and my personal favorite, the original Journey to...

Re: Blue Bayou

Ah, the Monte Cristo is pure culinary magic! My husband and I went to the Blue Bayou last weekend and did split our Monte Cristo without the extra fee. When our waitress asked what I wanted for an appetizer (gumbo or salad), I told her we were sharing. She didn't mention the fee, but the waitress at...

Re: Teakettle of Terror

Thanks for the thoughts! It looked like this...

The tea kettle came from the Disney Parks, not the Disney Store. Any other ideas would be helpful!

Re: Considering Tokyo trip - suggestions?

Guess I won't have to look too hard to find a vending machine!

Can anyone explain the lottery system to me for some of the Tokyo Disney shows (like Big Band Beat)? Do we line up for a ticket, or is it different?

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget

Any word on Little Mermaid soft openings? I was hoping to catch an one, but from the looks of things I might just be too early... :ariel:

Teakettle of Terror

My mom just had a horrifying experience. She has a Disney teakettle, the Chef Mickey one (so cute!). After boiling some water, she was carrying it to the sink when the handle broke off and the whole kettle crashed to the ground. The only thing that saved her legs and feet from being scalded were her...

Re: Considering Tokyo trip - suggestions?

Ah, excellent. Thanks for the pictures!

I've heard about Ramen vending machines and would love to give it a whirl. Are they pretty common in Tokyo and Kyoto?

Re: Considering Tokyo trip - suggestions?

Thanks for the tips, all! I speak almost no Japanese, but will be happy to talk slow, point at plastic food, and encourage their English! Another question! Is it hard to find Western style restrooms in Tokyo, Kyoto or Disney? Is there a certain sign we should look for to spot a style of restroom we'...

Re: Muppets!

I'm not sold on the new movie plot line yet, but to have anything reach the heights of the Muppet Movie for me would be pretty well impossible. The new character doesn't look quite right for a Muppet...but I'm still holding out hope that I'll love it!

Re: Newsies: Disney's newest musical?

Just came across this thread - I love Newsies! It's a fantastic musical and ever since I saw the movie I've wanted to see a stage version. It wouldn't be hard to transition, unlike Dumbo (don't get me wrong, it could be cool, but it could also be very scary - remember the pictures from Toy Story the...

Re: Considering Tokyo trip - suggestions?

Another question for those of you who have been to Tokyo. Could you give me any tips on ordering counter service food? Are the menus in English at the theme parks? And do any cast members speak English? Also, we're heading to Tokyo and Kyoto, so if you have any counter service food recommendations, ...

Re: Characters no longer allowed to roam?

What a terrible idea! As a kid, my favorite part of the characters, especially at Disneyland, was spotting them on a ride. And of course no Disney fan ever really grows up, so I was hoping to spot Peter Pan and Wendy on the carousel once again this year!

Re: Blue Bayou

Thanks for checking on that plate splitting fee! I suppose they're trying to discourage splitting, but I just can't eat that much food! And of course my husband has his heart set on the Blue Bayou atmosphere...

Blue Bayou

Has anyone been to the Blue Bayou recently? It looks like lunch prices have gone through the roof in the past few years. According to allears, the beloved Monte Cristo is $24.99 plus $12.00 if you want to split. Is that accurate, and are there any other options (besides going to Cafe Orleans)?
