Re: Misnomers
Oh...and while we're at it...we can stop calling it "Future World" since there isn't really anything about the future there. You can vaguely argue that Mission: Space is because it is set in the future...but it's more of a simulator than a view into the future. What would I rename it to? I...

Re: TOT to get bar
Great move on Disney's part. Alcohol sales will generate much more money than anything else for the square footage it occupies. I'm pretty sure this is close to the Fantasmic entrance and/or exit as well. If so...that's a good bit more money Disney can make. I am interested in seeing what kind of sp...

Re: Misnomers
I think the days of big corporate sponsorship are over and have been since the last recession. That's why everything Disney does now revolves around their IPs. Everything can be treated as a marketing cost on some level. Wonders of Life could possibly incorporate Inside Out and it would still make s...

Re: Misnomers
I think the Universe of Energy Pavilion should primarily focus on...wait for it...Energy...how we get it and use it today...and how we can best use it tomorrow. I have no problem referencing things like climate change, but it certainly shouldn't be the focal point at all...because it has nothing to ...

Re: DVC Perks No Longer Valid for Resale
What you listed is just a part of doing business and it's everywhere. The reason DVC is different is that the money is already realized. Disney doesn't lose anything when points are used because they are already planning on those points being used. it would be very different if the resorts were half...

Re: DVC Perks No Longer Valid for Resale
But Disney does win...because they got their money already. It's not like the DVC owner doesn't pay dues if they rent their points out. My points clearly showed how Disney makes more money off of the renting guest than the owner probably 90+% of the time. The only times Disney makes more money off o...

Re: Misnomers
I agree with you on Pop! and was really looking forward to the classic years. Clearly, Hollywood "Studios" won't really fit now that there are no studios there. I think the closest thing would be the Great Movie Ride in that it takes you into the movies and has a studio look and feel to it...

Re: DVC Perks No Longer Valid for Resale
The only real perk or discount that new DVC resale owners will miss out on is the AP and AP renewal. Other than that, I believe all other discounts are already available to AP holders or Disney Visa cardholders. So, at most you are only saving $100 per person...per year. Everyone knows booking DCL v...

Re: Fun article on AK
I thought everyone knew about the second entrance at AK. I first learned about it on a WDW special that was on the Travel Channel back in the early 2000s. Here is a clip of the show. I used to have it saved to my DVR way back in the day. I think I have it saved somewhere on my computer now. DW and I...

The Dark and Stormy is my favorite drink from Trader Sam's. If you like ginger and are a fan of stiff drinks...then you can't lose with this one. It doesn't come in a pretty glass, but it's got a cool straw that looks like an umbrella turned inside out by the wind. DW loved the Hippopotomaitai. We o...

Re: Disney After Hours Ticket 2016
I've had more time to let this digest... And I am now more okay with this. The main reason is because I think it's Disney trying to offer guests something they have been wanting for a while, and doing it without drastically raising the prices for all guests. Yes, they did just increase the prices fo...

Re: You know you're a WDW nut when...
Yeah, that is just a small part of the larger basement. It's a neat room that our kids love, so we'd love to keep it like that for a few years but we know we'll eventually need a bathroom and a few other things that would require gutting a lot of it. Of course if it were up to me, it would be turned...

When you move to a new house...and you ask your DS (almost 4 years old) what his "favorite PART of the new house is" and his answer is: "Disney's Animal Kingdom Park" I think he's watched "Must Do Disney" a few times. He's telling you he wants his room to look li...

Re: Disney After Hours Ticket 2016
Here are a few things that cost less than the $150 Disney is charging for the After Hours ticket at MK: MNSSHP: Max price is $87 for an adult on Halloween MVMCP: Max price is $82 for an adult Epcot Seas Aqua Tour: $149.10 (discounts available) Keys to the Kingdom: $78.81 (lunch included...significan...

Re: First trip to the parks
My first trip was in November 1986, so WDW was officially 15 years old. I was about to turn 5 years old then. I have some pictures somewhere, just can't remember where they are. Once I find them I will upload a few. I actually remember a few things from that first trip. I remember Figment and the Im...
