Re: Dateline Disneyland
Seems like a natural money-making alternative to have the carvings sold rather than thrown away. Only so many pumpkin pies you can make with leftovers, and I'm sure they don't have a deal with local bakeries to buy carved pumpkins that have sat out in the sun for a few days.

Re: Bye GAC Hello DAS
The FP system hinders more than aids an AP holder, but the AP always allows you to come back another time if wait times are unreasonable. I think I've grown less fond of FP over time because too many arriving guests get a pass as their first option, unbalancing the system.

Tell that to Dateline Disney and their weekly coverage of everything covered with tarps.

Re: Bye GAC Hello DAS
I can see them turning the system off during slow times. And Wizz is right: people have been taking advantage of the system for a while, so why the change now? Maybe it just seemed easier for cast members (even if it isn't - we all know about "time savers" invented by well-meaning clods).

Yeah, I can't imagine the tour changing up because of the shutdown, but it's still disappointing to lose one of the quiet areas of the park.

I liked the old hanging mannequin, but the new breaking glass bit looks awesome. Can't wait to go.

I didn't register, but I was intrigued by the fact that 236 other people were online when I checked it out. I like when the old games get reverse-engineered and go public.

Re: Innoventions to finally close?
"Making them legal" is kind of a funny way of looking at it. Nevada was the first to give the official okay to them, with the explanation that autonomous driving was no different that adaptive cruise control - as long as a human is capable of taking over in an emergency, it's technically a...

Re: Dateline Disneyland
Dateline has done a good job of documenting the timeline on the railings. You can see temporary now clearly as a stopgap, with stylized coming later. I'm still interested in hearing the official word for the courtyard. I am one of those that liked having an out-of-the-way place, but I can't expect t...

Re: Disney PhotoPass Quality Control
That DSLR is probably more machine than the average ham-n-egger tourist can figure out, no matter how "auto" you set it. That's one reason I prefer a point n' shoot for vacation - it may not be the best picture, but it won't be unacceptable.

Jeez, if only we could make real cars steer and propel themselves for safety. Take the idiot out of the loop, so to speak.

I wouldn't be surprised if the elevator got a pass due to grandfathering, but those exemptions only last so long. I can't see them ripping it out, though. Better to leave it non-operational in place.

Or like Pooh's Hunny Hut at Disney Tokyo? Trackless, electric, and technology already exists.

Re: Cruise Line Policy Changes
Entire hotel chains have total smoking bans (Hyatt and the entire Starwood chain come to mind). Balcony or room, doesn't matter. The usual way the charge gets added is not someone tattling, it's housekeeping finding evidence of smoking during cleaning. This is sometimes the smell of smoke, sometimes...
