Re: Dateline Disneyland

You know there is this great new place you can do it, it's called Italy. :D Much more intriguing meeting them in Germany ;) Sounds...like a personal story. Whatever works for you. Myself, I have no objections to fräulein in festival-appropriate clothing. I keep drinking, and they keep looking better.

Re: Dateline Disneyland

Eh, Oktoberfest has strange roots that don't conform to modern practices. It originally *was* a mid-October festival, but was moved back to take advantage of better September Bavarian weather. Still, the goal was to run it to the first Sunday in October. The ending date was then changed to match Ger...

Re: Main Street USA News (Former Concrete Thread)

Anyone seen plans? Will they add access to the Main St. stores, or add new stores? Or is it just going to be a corridor?

That is a real difficult low-light to bright-light shot. You can see the difference in contrast of the gargoyles between the first and second shot.

Re: Thor Meet and Greet this Fall

I was led to believe at the show that the display came from the original movie set from the first film (they had several other items, as well). They recycled for the other films, so probably haven't gotten rid of it (yet). I'm sure the real consideration for using that cheap looking thing is simply ...

Re: Thor Meet and Greet this Fall

Now that I look closer, that throne room looks even worse than the costume. Compare versus the display at Comic-Con a few years ago.

Found this article with preview photos of the exhibit.

Thor's costume looks like crap.

We used the boat from the Swan...once. After that we walked. Seemed silly to wait for the boat, wait for it to load, and then slowly putter along. Wasted half an hour.

Great nighttime castle photos. That's also the first time I've ever seen the accessible ramp used for Jungle Cruise.

Re: Bye GAC Hello DAS

Meh, just because someone files a lawsuit doesn't mean it goes anywhere. Given the expense of hiring an attorney, filing a suit, and working through the process, more people are likely to threaten to sue than actually do it. What's sad it the generic media hooplah coverage of someone filing a lawsui...

Re: Dateline Disneyland

Yeah, it's definitely not active duty that's flooding the park - we were told to report no matter what (luckily, we're getting paid). Defense industry is still big in OC and LA county, so it would make sense that affected AP holders would spend their days filling the time at DL. My understanding of ...

I never realized they strung their lights without the bulbs, and then added them after. L-o-n-g way of doing things.

Re: Dateline Disneyland

I'm sure they considered selling them, and all the reasons you list are good ones not to sell them. All I'm saying is there have been other contract vendors that have sold their wares in DL before (I have a nice Dia de Los Muertos carving from last year's event). I think the perishable food item asp...

Re: Dateline Disneyland

Sure, but neither are large stuffed toys or intricate models and such. Could the package program accommodate, or perhaps could they sell the previous day's carvings out in Downtown Disney, or closer to the exit? Sales has probably looked at this and discounted it, but if they're interested in nickle...
