"Mom! I don't want to watch the creepy old ladies! I want to go meet the cartoon characters!"
"Junior, when you get to be my age, you'll see that there's no difference between the two."

Re: Favorite Food Item - 2013 Food & Wine Festival?
Could be worse, they could be Ohio with their diarrhea in a bowl they call chili. You mean Cincinnati chili? That's a topping, not a dish of its own, hence more sauce-like. It took me two tries to figure out the cinnamon+allspice+chocolate was giving it the flavor. Not my favorite, but not awful wh...

Are beef sliders really that rare around there that they're considered a unique dish? It seems like every other restaurant and bar in California has a slider on the appetizer menu.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
They really should reconsider their holiday crossover timing. I know Nightmare Before Christmas is a thing, but it felt classier when the decorations went up the Monday after Thanksgiving. That was always my favorite week in the park: new decorations, no crowds, weather still great in SoCal.

Re: 8 Secrets about Disneyland
It seems like every few months, a bored internet "news" writer trots out the "Secrets of Disneyland!" trope that you can find in 5 minutes on Snopes. Latest case in point:

November Refurbishment Schedule: Cirque du Soleil: Nov 3rd through 6th ... Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Adventure Zone Sep 3rd to Nov 19th Interesting that the live action show takes three days, while the film show takes more than a month. I wonder if the bean counters factor in long term maintenance w...

Sure. They call "Dufrain, party of three. Dufrain, party of three." When they don't show, they just move on to the next name, "Smith, party of two. Smith, party of two." Yeah, what happened to the Dufrains? No one seems to care about them. Maybe they had an accident somewhere, or...

I don't know what's more disturbing - the Domo angel pastries at the top; the kid's creeper smile; or that deer with a look that says, "Wrong neighborhood, MFer." And is this ad implying that you should skip school (he obviously missed the bus) and get fat with some strudel? The mind boggl...

Re: 5 year old injured on Pirates of the Caribbean at DLP
Pirates can turn into quite the bumper boat experience when reaching the unloading area. I can see the reaction being to add a "permanaced sentados por favor!" announcement, even though good sense and mindful parenting should have prevented something like this.

Yeah, I think they'd spend more in fielding complaints from people who dispute the charge than if they just let it go. It's not like they're not going to fill the table with a walk-in within a few minutes. In fact, it'd probably be more effective to shorten the window where you are required to appea...

I would think it would have to be a mature horse that knew where it was going and didn't need rider direction. Kind of like those old trail nags they use for tourist trail rides.
