LGB taxi to DL

Flying down to DL later this AM. Is the taxi fare still set at @ $45 from Long Beach (LGB) to the DL resorts? I know it's different going back. Sorry, it's been a couple years. Thanks. (coming from Seattle, so the "rain" shouldn't be an issue. :-) )

Re: Airfare

According to a recent travel survey: The #1 source for finding and comparing fares is currently through aggregators (Kayak, FareChase, etc) and then they usually link to the airline's respective site for booking. The #2 choice is airline direct. .............. Bottom line - there is no substitute f...

Re: Disney World in 2012

Was it terribly hot and humid? On the 4th, it got to 86º and definitely was humid. But by then, we had been there a week and were kind of used to it. What you need to do in these cases (if you're not used to it) is "know" that it's going to be horribly humid and incredibly hot. Then when ...

Re: Disney World in 2012

Very wise choice! I've been there during that time, and it can get as crowded as it does there for Christmas! Dang! Then my family & I must be a glutton for punishment. The 2 times we've been (so far :) ) were over Christmas and over Fourth of July. It was definitely crowded but I guess I don't...

Re: Disney World in 2012

When we were there last July, I weighed the cost of staying off-site (hotel, car rental/taxi, tickets, express pass) vs on-site. I was more expensive to stay on-site but for us the convenience canceled the extra cost. Sorry, I wished I could remember what the cost diff was. They did have the single ...

metal Mickey "Sheriff" badge found

I was walking down the street today and found this. It's bronze in color and is metal. It looks like everything was pre-printed except the name "DUDE" (not indented as deep). Does anybody recognize this from a park? Maybe it's just from some arcade vending machine? It's probably nothing, b...

Re: Disney World in 2012

At first I thought about just Disney but the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is up in the air. Hint: ask for the single rider line (if they still have it). :D My DW, 2 DS's saved at least a 45min to hour wait for the Forbidden Journey once we discovered this. In and out in just over 10 minutes. Gra...

Re: Disney World in 2012

As for booking hotels, most if not all can be held with a credit card and you have until 1 to 5 days (varies) before your actual stay to cancel them without penalty. So when you are able to book a room, check the cancellation policy. If it's like I said, you can book the room without any charge. The...

Re: Disney World in 2012

For airline tickets, I think Len said they get good prices on Southwest. Checkout http://www.mousesavers.com . Loads of good info. Also sign up for her monthly newsletter. In there is a link to site for discounted park tickets. As for a hotel, if you can utilize points for BW, that would save...

Re: What "Disney" stuff did you get for Christmas/Holidays?

I got a 2-year planner with Mickey's on it. The 2 years works perfect as it will cover our big family Christmas trip to DL in 2012. Time to start planning. :) (more on that in a different thread).

Re: Airfare

Viking, my Rafiki bows to the superior knowledge of your viking Mickey. That was really informative and helpful information. Thank you! LOL Thank you very much! My 'training' comes from my sister-in-law (DS-I-L?) who is our "family travel planner". It sounds like Len is on the same track ...

Re: Airfare

I had to dig a couple articles deep but found it. Kind of interesting. http://www.farecompare.com/articles/when-to-buy/when-to-buy-travel-advice/ * Airlines typically file their airfare sales late Monday evening (at 8pm Eastern) * Usually only one or two airlines kick off a sale on any given week * ...

May be "a day late and a dollar short", but here's an article titled "Best Time to Buy Airline Tickets to Orlando". http://www.farecompare.com/articles/best-time-to-buy-airfare/best-time-to-buy-orlando/ Some key points: "...the best time to buy domestic airline tickets is Tu...

Re: Renting out my Disney Vacation Club

I was just reading about this yesterday in Mousejunkies! by Bill Burke. A good FAQ about this can be found at http://www.dvcrequest.com/faq.htm.
