Re: Disney Tastes
The bobotie which is on the buffet at Boma in Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is wonderful. What is that....sounds interesting :goofy: From Wikipedia: "bobotie...is a South African dish consisting of spiced minced meat baked with an egg-based topping." It really is one of our favorite dishes. It...

awww i'm not married yet... :( funny that I have no desire to spend wedding/honeymoon/anniversaries at WDW or DLR... However, I DO have a very special (non-Disney) place where I want my wedding to be held... if only... We felt the same way. No desire to do a wedding at WDW or DLR. Our wedding was i...

Re: Whats your favorite park at WDW?
EPCOT for sure. It is the best of the parks, and the most unique theme park in the world. Unfortunately, there will never be another like EPCOT. If you want to see the Magic Kingdom, you have 5 choices right now (of the 2 US versions, I definitely prefer Disneyland over the MK)...for Hollywood Studi...

Re: Favorite Park Music
EPCOT is still the only park where I actually stop and listen to the music during each visit. Each park has good unique music, but I enjoy EPCOT the most. On a slightly different note, I seem to remember the music at Disneyland more than I remember the music at Magic Kingdom. Can anyone tell me how ...

Re: Disney "Smells"
I've always loved the smells of the HVAC system of the Monorails. That first ride on a Monorail once arriving on property is fantastic. Sometimes, when I get on a bus here in Washington DC, or on the Skytrain at Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport the smell is somewhat similar...and it takes me b...

Re: Ever been to WDW in a hurricane?
We were at WDW during a hurricane (or some reduced form of a hurricane) in late October/early November back in the mid- to late-1980s. I don't remember which storm, but my parents still talk about it. We were coming off a vacation on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and my dad wanted to do WDW for a coupl...

Re: Magic Journeys Music creeps me out!
That show, and the music always creeped me out too! My dad loved it, but I (3 years old the first time I saw it) thought it was creepy as I grew up watching it at EPCOT and MK. I can't explain why, it just always did! I still listen to it. I enjoy the memories. But it is creepy. Still. I thought I w...

Re: Monorail Night (aka the Monorail Crawl)
Yes, we have done the three-resort Monorail crawl. We started at the Polynesian for sushi and glow-tinis, then on to the Grand Floridian for a nice martini, and then up to the Contemporary for dinner and drinks and more sushi at the bar at California Grill...and then back to the Caribbean Beach Reso...

Re: When will the build a 5th park?
I do hope it TDO does wait until they do some work on EPCOT and DHS. With regards to EPCOT, Imagination needs to be fixed, Energy is long overdue for an update, Spaceship Earth's ending is severly lacking, Test Track could use a refresh, Wonders of Life sits barren, and there is still room for more ...

Re: New Animal Kingdom Area
Animal Kingdom is an unfinished park. And because it's unfinished, TDO can't afford to take down Everest or Dinosaur for maintenance and rehabs because of the serious capacity issues that would cause. Disney obviously doesn't feel that Animal Kingdom is worth spending money on, and until they chang...

A planter near the base of the walkway up to The Land, facing Space Ship Earth, with the Monorail in the frame. Got a few good ones of the different Monorails, along with the Girlfriend. Never a bad picture of any of those things

Re: If WDW had to close two parks...
EPCOT and MK are the two worth saving. However, if you removed Hall of Presidents and Carousel of Progress from the MK and moved them to Disneyland or EPCOT (or the other saved WDW park, DHS is my third in this line of succession) then there isn't much unique about the MK that you can't find at Disn...

Re: Does Test Track Need Some Refurbishment?
I always enjoy Test Track when I am at EPCOT. Fun ride, cool ride system, some science and engineering education, neat story telling, fits EPCOT pretty well. However, I think the biggest issue I have with Test Track is the lack of futuristic content in the ride. It feels like I am walking through a ...
