Re: 2015 is last year for Osborne Lights

I have seen the same thing out of several trusted WDW sources today, and I find it a sad development. As many times as I have been to WDW, I have never made it down during the Christmas holiday season, and always hoped to in order to see the decorations throughout the property, including the Osborne...

Re: Frozen Attraction to Replace Maelstrom (Confirmed)

Updating Maelstrom would have been fine with me, because it was a bit dated. However, I like it (or liked it) and our family always looked forward to riding it every year. Maybe it's because both of our kids are now teens and aren't as in to the hype this update will bring, or maybe I'm just old and...

Re: Must See/Do at Disney World NOT in Theme parks?

I always wondered, how do you get to the Fantasia Gardens mini-golf course? Do you take transport to the Swan/Dolphin (whatever way you choose) and then walk from there? Actually, if you go behind the Swan and take the sidewalk past the pool, you just continue on that sidewalk and it will bear left...

Re: My Favorite Disney Walks

My favorite WDW walk is taking the paved path from Fort Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge. If you take a normal pace it's probably a 10-15 minute walk. Depending on the time of year, you often have the path almost to yourself and it can feel like you are miles and miles from anyone.

Re: Disney WDW AP Issues

During my trips in September and December I noticed large, and I mean large, chunks of peeling paint from the TTA's support beams (there are a lot right before entering and right after exiting Space Mountain. Very sad they can't even scrape and paint. I wonder if it is getting close to a refurb and...

Re: Starbucks taking over Main Street Bakery

I......DON'T.......LIKE.....THIS........AT.....ALL!!!!!!!! How in the world does a Starbucks fit into the turn of the last century theme of Main Street USA? Easy, it doesn't. Look, I like Starbucks periodically like many do, but why does it have to replace an iconic fixture like the Main Street Bake...

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW

I'm willing to give it a shot, even though I have never seen the movie and have never had the slightest urge to see it. My question is this; will it still be relevant when the Avatar section finally opens at AK? It's several years from even beginning construction, and several more years before it a...

Re: Favorite Counter Service meals at WDW?

In MK Pecos Bill's has always been a favorite, but I have to say that Cosmic Ray's has improved greatly in the last few years and now is a close second. In AK it's Flame Tree BBQ hands down. DHS is Pizza Planet, and Epcot is La Cantina (Mexico), Yorkshire County Fish Shop (UK), or Sunshine Seasons i...

Re: Big Thunder Mountain closing for lengthy refurb.

Since BTM is my daughter's favorite ride, I'll have to figure out how to break it to her that it won't be open during our March 2012 trip. :?

Re: Big Thunder Mountain closing for lengthy refurb.

I just passed people in the SM line if they lingered at the "distractions" when the line started moving again. If they noticed, I let them back in, otherwise I just left them to their games while I moved on toward the REAL attraction.

Our honeymoon was June 93' at the now defunct Vacation Villas (current location of Saratoga Springs). We've been 7-8 times since and look to make it annually from here on.

Honestly, I'd probably just use the night to explore everything I could while the park was "closed". :D

Re: Spaceship Earth Narrator...

Jeremy Irons by far. As others have already stated, his script was better, but his voice was a much better fit than Dench IMO. That's not meant as a slam toward her, just a preference for Jeremy's work as the narrator.

Re: Great Movie Ride - Western or Gangster?

I have to go with Gangster. We had both during our March trip this year, and gangster definitely gets my nod.
