Re: Sleep over at one of WDW parks, where would you pick??
Not sure about current procedures, but in the 90's, the hurricane response cast members for Land/Imagination/Seas would overnight at the Living Seas since it is so heavily built. I have slept overnight at The Living Seas. When I was working there, I slipped, fell, ripped my leg open (1/2 dozen stitc...

Re: Who else misses Horizons at EPCOT Center?
I miss it. I got to ride it the last day it was open when a bunch of other CM's and I ran there after our shift to get on it.

Re: Snow White Mine Train
The opening is the 28th of this month. It has been in soft opening and I rode it 3 times during the 24 hour event. With the line backed up into almost to Dumbo, it was about a 45-50 minute wait each time, although no fast passes were available for anyone, so the line moved faster than it would once ...

Re: Funniest Event you ever wittnessed at Disney
EPCOT, July 1995. A Living Seas Cast Member (diver) escorted a family to the First Aid station (behind Odyssey Restaurant, part of same building). The CM is wearing a 7 mil farmer john wetsuit in 100+ degree heat. Stops on the way back at a beverage cart and requests a large cup of ice. Pulls the fa...

Re: Magic Kingdom to finally get brand new parade
Dug up some old video that my dad took (I couldn't yet carry the monstrosity that passed for home video cameras). The float was NOT in the 1984 Donalds' Birthday parade but it is definately in the 1986 15th Anniversary parade. However, the drive train under it may have been adapted/re-used from one ...

Re: Behind The Scenes Look at The Living Seas
The manatees were fun to work with, but are very flatulent. And nose plugs don't exactly portray the right image while talking with people

Re: Behind The Scenes Look at The Living Seas
As mentioned in my article, Mickey is not very dextrous (nor streamlined) in the water, hence the need for two dive buddies... I got to dive with Mickey 17 times, but did not make the experience cutoff to be fully certified as his primary dive buddy due to a lack of opportunities.

Behind The Scenes Look at The Living Seas
Hey All, I just had an interview published via the From the Mouth of the Mouse column over on MiceAge. It provides some behind the scenes info from the Living Seas Science Diver programs in the mid 90's. It also has some internship pictures and a video of the divers view from the lockout chamber. ht...

Re: The Living Seas
A couple of my stories have to deal with how real or special effect the divers and fish are. The short answer is the divers and fish are mostly real. The coral and starfish in the main tank are not real. We (divers and fish) live and die, and the tanks require maintenance. When there are a number of...

Re: The Living Seas
Plenty of stories... This post is actually pretty timely in that a number of the stories will be featured in an upcoming From the Mouth of the Mouse column on miceage.com. I will post a link once it is up, then answer follow-up questions. But I as a preview, I have 8 underwater marriage propsals and...

Re: Disney College Program
I did an Advanced Internship (Scientific Dive Internship) back in '95. We were housed with the rest of the CP's and were technically part of College Program but were really a separate program. My sister did the regular CP in '97.
