This might take a while...

This might take a while, so you might want to get a comfortable chair and some munchables. One of the running debates in EPCOT is how to keep the sense of awe and wonder while ushering in new attractions. I'm sure some of the things I describe here would be unpopular. But hey, it's just one man's op...

Well, I think it's all just a matter of semantics. By your standards, I might as well say the maps from different years. Still have one from EPCOT around the time Horizons opened... somewhere around the labyrinth of boxes known as our attic. It's weird how your brain can work sometimes; every now an...

Although I can certainly see your point, js, I wouldn't consider the position of souvenir as being low. Out of anything in the park, what would you consider bringing back to your home as a reminder of your visit? If anything, I would believe that it only reinforces how we feel about the music at the...

I have to give a thumbs up to Ellen's Energy Adventure, perhaps 3 1/2 out of 5. Got some chuckles out of it when it was new, but the problem with making a comedy-oriented ride is keeping it fresh, and visual cues work better in this regard than verbal. Now that Ellen and Bill has passed their ten ye...

bdinger: second the thoughts on the Park Music. Would leave the parks with the new CD blaring in the car. Sometimes play one coming in, especially The Haunted Mansion and the mix CD I made in 2000 (almost entirely Space Mountain music). But before the shirts, before the other souvenirs... the music ...

Not sure if this would count or not (don't know if I would consider it less than moral), but: Was at Universe of Energy, during the pre-show (do miss the Radok), when a guy comes up to me, more than a bit nervous, and says: "Are you in charge here?" Didn't answer yes or no. Just said: &quo...

I would have to go with:

Disneyland - Tomorrowland - space mountain concourse - universe of energy

I remember when this was the music outside the pavilion, pre-Energy adventure days. Man, the original UoE was awesome.

Well, if it is opening, I certainly wouldn't mind one last trip through WoL. It'll be the first time I'll see a closing coming. Never went on Horizons, or World of Motion, or the original Universe of Energy (still my fav) thinking, "Wow. This'll be it."

"Blankety blank."

Wow.

I'd like to know where you all go to work. They just took away our internet because someone opened an e-mail that unleashed a virus through our system. Like finding addresses not in the city atlas wasn't hard enough; in Kissimmee that's most of the town...

The CD kiosks

So far as I could tell, WDW removed them after many of the tracks appeared online on Napster and other similar sites. I got my CD in 2000; the booths were removed not long afterward. I had heard that a similar custom CD kiosk was installed in Main Street, USA, so it may still be possible to make them.

Agreed.

The music for Space Mountain is among the best at MK, right up there with Haunted Mansion. The entrance theme (which was also played, with lyrics at the end queue before the Tomorrowland renovations in the mid-90s) was the first thing I added to the custom CD I made at the Journey Into Imagination k...

Agree with Cheshire. It's nice when the ride allows the patron to put in the pieces with their own imagination. Probably why I'd put Haunted Mansion first.
