Re: Star Wars Land at HS??
If you are only talking about movies, then yes, but Lucas pimped the franchise out so much for other forms of media/merch that it really never fully asleep. You have to think beyond just a narrow lane. :D Re-releases are one thing, but no new content means acquisition is going to be tough. What is ...

Re: Can someone please explain the new wristbands?
What I was talking about was room keys, linked credit cards, etc. not just the admission. AP holders could still do linked credit cards, couldn't they? If it's easier than pulling out their wallets and getting out their cards, then why not? I could even see crediting gift card balances to the band....

Re: Star Wars Land at HS??
Universal does have an issue with Harry Potter though, the author is still alive will not be writing anymore content for the series as long as she has the rights. So that means things will remain mostly static and the series will not be able to attract new generations like Star Wars is able to sinc...

Re: Planes Movie
It doesn't look appealing to me, honestly. I was a fan of Cars (the first since I never cared for the second) but this one doesn't look that great. I feel the same way. The first one, as a gimmick, was fine, but I don't need Disney to concentrate on talking inanimate objects that somehow live in hu...

Makes me wonder if they have a minimum sale threshold before they would even put something into the outlet store... They might end up giving those things away!Amy wrote:Yeah, I think these will probably be heading for the outlet store fairly quickly...

Re: Can someone please explain the new wristbands?
Even using them on AP holders seems like a waste since a huge chunk of the functionality won't be used. I think the functionality might be used heavily by some AP holders, especially if they're really frequent visitors who might find it advantageous to pick their rides/attractions/whatever in advan...

I'd say that's a Disney quarantine I could appreciate. Interesting to see how this develops!

Re: RIP Spectromagic
actually, it's entirely like Disney to dispose of the floats. Makes a lot of sense. Especially with new technology now available. And not just LED lighting, either. Smaller, lighter and more powerful batteries, as well as lighter construction material. I'm sentimental too, but there can be a crossi...

Re: Can someone please explain the new wristbands?
At TED they were talking about a future feature of characters in rides/at meet and greets being able to address you by name. They might not be able to do it because the system uses a web-app and it strays dangerously close to the rules against identifying persons under 14 online. They might be able...

Re: Disney Springs News
Has there been any kind of overall timeline for the project, or is it just being announced in terms of constituent changes to the area?

Re: What would you change back?
Old school EPCOT Center, oh, please, for the love of all the little hidden Mickeys... I'd find a better place for Soarin' at WDW (maybe even get a few country flight films on rotation and go put it next to World Showcase somewhere), but I would definitely restore Seas, Imagination, Spaceship Earth (...

Re: Walt Disney World Railroad Refurbishment
At WDW? Probably not since it can be a once in a lifetime trip for many of their visitors. At DLR, they apparently did have all 4 closed for part of a day. BTM was closed for a long refurbishment, they were doing work on the Matterhorn, and splash and space were closed for OSHA violations. Time sca...

Re: Backlot Express Closing in September
Like he is avoiding a shareholder revolt since the people who invest would be quite displeased if they were the last to know where their money was going. Are his chances really that good if he avoids saying anything at all about where the money's going? :P (Edited to add... I'm guessing he'd be ret...

Re: Backlot Express Closing in September
Well it looks like there will be no new announcements at D23 this year. This is a section from an interview on micechat "Does this mean we should temper our expectations about big new ride announcements during this year’s Expo? DAVE FISHER, Walt Disney Imagineering: We’ll be using the Expo as ...

Re: Moms hire handicapped tour guides so kids can Cut Lines
It probably would be, but yeah I suggest if legal hadn't authorized you to compel proof from guests for the pass that you stop it (and tell your friends) because if someone files a complaint with the DOJ about the violation you could end up hurting your career with Disney. No one is asking for proo...
