Re: Losing My Pixie Dust Desire

Many of you are going to be very  about this thought because it's hard to comprehend such a travesty. My first trip to WDW in what I call the "modern era" with 4 parks and all we see now was in 2001. The girls were 3 and 7, we stayed at All-start Movies, and had a truly magical tim...

Re: Best Age for a Child's First Visit

Cute photos gullyf ~ I have to admit I had to look up what a rebozo is...you managed to carry them around with those until age 5  I also like the fact that the characters interact with the kids on eye level, although I can't imagine trying to get up from the floor gracefully while in the cha...

Re: Best Age for a Child's First Visit

I am getting the feeling that the age 4 is a good age. Unfortunately, that means I will have to wait until June 2012 at the earliest. I would respectfully disagree... Although more work than subsequent future trip when the kids were older, it was a great experience for all of us. Even though both k...

I too was 14, and it was October 1971, as a member of the 1076 (+/-) piece band that marched down Main Street on opening day. Didn't get to see much of it that day, but we got something like 7 books of tickets for participating. Always fun to walk down Main Street and see things through the eyes of ...

Tough question indeed. While Epcot certainly is the park I tend to spend the most time in, I can't walk down MK's Main Street without it becoming October 1, 1971 again. There, in front of Cinderella's Castle, standing among more than a thousand instruments and voices and actually feeling "When ...

On-site is definitely the best way to go. Up until this year, we had always stayed at a moderate or better, usually POR. We did stay at Wilderness Lodge once, but really found no real advantage over POR. Another trip we had 6 people, so opted for a Ft. Wilderness cabin instead of two rooms elsewhere...

We have found 10 days to be the sweet spot for us. Usually by the 10th day it is feeling like it is time to get home. Longer stays also seem to be the most economical for us in cost per day terms, given that travel (usually air for us from CT) is a fixed cost no matter how many days you stay and par...

hehe... Louisiana is probably on par with Florida as far as proportion of venomous to non-venomous snakes goes (edit: possibly even worse ;)... and as you guessed cottonmouth was what I was thinking when writing my post... used to watch them swim under us in the lake, but they never bothered us if w...

I thought Austrailia had the most venomous snakes, in both respects of the phrase. Anywho I have seen the snakes around and I don't worry about them unless it starts rattling, I've even seen Armadillos at Coronado Springs. The Armadillos are fun because they curl up into the little armoured ball wh...

and big trouble if it happens to turn out venomous and you DO manage to catch it.. less than 1% of the worlds snakes are venomous, and of that amount, less than half are fatal. the vast majority are treatable and would just hurt a bit if bitten. Just what I want to do while on my Disney vacation: s...

You pursued the snake? Why..... Very good question. Snakes are pretty much a part of life in Florida, along with a host of other critters. Best thing to do is just leave them alone and they'll go their own way, or report it, as you did, and let managment decide how to handle it. Pursuing anything y...

We had to use the Ft. Wilderness cabins for our family of 6 (2 adults, 2 teens and 2 3yr olds), so this *might* prove to be a viable option. We are 5 now, the older son now off on his own, but still might prove better than POR for five. Having the kitchenette and dining table in the cabin made it mu...

But in what seems lately typical of Disney lack of attention to deatil, I can't enter the contest because it says I have an invalid zip code, and there is NO way to contact anyone about it. My zip code begins with a zero, so they are probably using a numeric field which is dropping the zero and maki...

Anyone doing anything has to accept that the act of doing creates a certain amount of risk, period. I am the only one with information about my health: by getting on the ride (s...

We went mid to late May of last year with 2 yr old twins and found the weather delightful. Warm enough for them to enjoys the water spots and pools but not the oppressive late summer heat and humidity that is the hallmark of a Florida summer. Crowds were managable and the brief showers we experience...
