Re: Animal Kingdom's new Poop Treats

"Kids might love them", but c'mon Disney, is it really necessary to pander to the scatological fascination of juveniles? Humor like this seems like a low brow way to get attention. As Jerry Seinfeld says "...it's not really "dirty", it's just lazy."

Re: Backlot Tour Closing

I was hoping it wouldn't include New York Street. That was always a great overflow area and great for taking snapshots. And yes, the Osbourne Spectacle... where will it go?

Re: Snow White Mine Cart Ride Fire

I'm sure that ride is now better doused with water nightly during "Wishes" to make sure it doesn't happen again. Which is good, since we're going there in about a month.

Re: Alcohol at MK?

Things have gone fine without alcohol in the parks since '55. I don't see a reason for it. IT's not going to hurt their business in any way. So why add it? Then again, I'm old fashioned. (and I drink, just in case you want to pigeon hole me!)_

Re: Understanding the appeal of California Adventure

What's cool is it's a re-creation of what most folks ASSUME California is like. Idealized, yes but based in reality. I've only been to CA once, and never to the Adventure, but I think I would enjoy it going in realizing it's not DLII but an entirely different park and mission. Wow, are there any oth...

Re: The Great Movie Ride and Turner Classic Movies channel

Going in March, I will report back if anything has changed. I hope not GMR is one of my favorites. Although it could be improved especially the Busby Berkley scene!

"Extra Extra New York Daily!" I think that's what the newsboy is saying. Anyway, I like his little voice. It's sweet. That is, if they used a real kid. If it's some adult woman trying to sound like a little boy, then it's immediately annoying. Ha ha!

Re: Calling it MGM *GASP*

I can't call it DHS because when I was a Cast Member at MK, "DHS" stood for Diamond HorseShoe"! We as Cast never referred to it as MGM anyway, it was (and is still) just called "the studios".
Even the parks' abbreviations used on memos are MK, EC, ST and AK.

Re: New Peter Pan Queue

when I was a character we used to stand near the exit behind the rail (Captain Hook and Smee) and act like animatronics, then when people went by, we'd grab them. Wow, couldn't ever get away with doing that today.

Re: Some EPCOT ride music has gone

I thought FIGMENT was back in the park? I don't know why they would remove his song. Oh well. Whatever they're playing now will be nostalgia for kids in 20 years as well. (although by then you'll probably be able to take a virtual reality tour into any time era you wish. Probably at Epcot! :)

Re: Sorcerer's Hat being removed from HS?

I was trying to remember if there is anywhere on property they have relocated things that have been removed. Can't come up with a one. But I'm sure the more rabid "Disnoids" will be able to come up with a couple recycled and relocated structures.

Sonny Eclipse! UGH. First of all, he replaced the live stage show that used to appear on that stage. And to make it worse, they have to pipe in crowd applause and laughter because that ugly alien is not entertaining in the least.

Re: Robin Williams: Thank you for all you did! May you rest

Robin WIlliams wandered into my store in South Carolina while he was in town for a show. I acted like I didn't know who he was, to make him comfortable enough to stick around and chat a while. But A customer came in and asked for his autograph so that blew that... He was very quiet and subdued. Can'...

Re: Changes coming to Norway Pavillion

Wow, I don't even remember writing that post above, but I went back and checked. Sure enough! That might be a cool new thread. "Posts you've written in the past that no longer reflect what you think today". Bottom line, people affix memories to experiences, and if you visited the Norway pa...
