Re: Resorts charging for parking
The reason they likely are doing it is because they have been gathering solid data now and learned things like less than 1/3rd of visitors actually gamble, so their main revenue stream isn't as large as they wanted it to be. Hence the change to nickel and dime. Even the free drinks don't exist in ma...

Re: Resorts charging for parking
You sort of pay for that already, if you are staying on-property. The costs are rolled into the final price. Not that it changes much, but this isn't limited to Disney world. I was at a conference in Vegas (flew in) and someone was ranting at person behind the counter because the major hotels have a...

Re: How to pop in to a Resort without reservation?
Usually people are just using resort transit or cabs/rideshares. Were you trying to do general parking or valet? Usually valets will not be as big an issue since they can control it more.

Re: Resorts charging for parking
As much as I tend to give Disney a pass on some of the costs, this one is not acceptable to me. Their hotels are very expensive (even the value ones based on what you actually get for a room). I'm willing to pay for the convenience and the Disney feel. But parking should not be charged with guests ...

Re: Opinions on restaurants at Epcot
It sounds like you are into communal dining, so those places are fine. Not totally my scene but they work. Every sit down place in WS is going to be good, so no worries there unless you really aren't a fan of that culture's style at a fundamental level. The reasoning is that they are getting data an...

Re: Really good at WDW but first time at Disneyland! Any tip
Since you are going in May, provided you don't have to see the first showing (and they are doing two that day) you will be able to wait until the evening to pick up your pass if you wish. The later show is much less crowded and you have no issue getting a good spot. At the same time you can also do ...

Re: Really good at WDW but first time at Disneyland! Any tip
Most of the stuff for the pier that is closed now (Fun Wheel, Coaster, etc.) all have a "TBD" for re-opening. As these are just reskins, those can be done faster and they are presumably going to get it running by Memorial Day weekend, possibly that weekend (it worked for Guardians). Shade ...

Re: Really good at WDW but first time at Disneyland! Any tip
From the listings, and usual stuff surrounding big changes, the updates to the rides wouldn't open before memorial day. Mainly because it will be a high profile thing for the year.

Re: Really good at WDW but first time at Disneyland! Any tip
Can't say how crowds will be (they truncated calendars, so you can only go off historical data), but remember that Fantasmic and World of Color are FP shows, so you will want to pick those up early in the day. For Radiator Springs Racers, if you don't mind not riding together just use the single rid...

Re: Really good at WDW but first time at Disneyland! Any tip
You have way more locals here, but you are going to need to give more info in terms of when you are going. The crowds stay decently large in the slow times, but not as insane as during the summer or holidays. Most rides at WDW will be slightly different here. The only exception would be things like ...

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
I think the problem, at least in this case, is that the rides and land directly call out to the film and explain why tensions between the species have been stressed, why things are the way they are, and what exactly is significant about the content in the two rides. It is one of the important parts ...

Re: AVATAR coming to WDW
The take is one meh-ride and one good-ish ride (oddly featuring the voice of the player character from Mass Effect: Andromeda as a background in the queue).
Don't use the first movie for a reference on these because apparently everything has basically been undone, including the main villain.

Re: Express Transportation between the parks
Possibly or they cannibalized themselves doing this. Similar to the cabanas at MK, it tries to fill a need that is theoretically already addressed. At the same time, it sends a pretty terrible message when you actively encourage guests to not get a rental car by offering free transit to and from the...
