Re: Experiences with CMs- care to share?

Agreed. And it goes both ways. CMs very much appreciate recognition for their work, but they also would like to know who is recognizing them and for what reasons.

Don't forget you can also request a Guest Service Fanatic card to write out for the CM; the turnaround is faster.

Re: Sit down Restaurants

As others have said, it's good to book places in advance as far ahead as you can. Some places fill up faster than others, but it might be easier for you because it's just the two of you. But the longer you wait to book, dining times fill up and you might be stuck with something really early or late....

Re: Best Beers in WDW

Not really a beer drinker, but I do love getting the Safari Amber at either Epcot at the African Outpost or in DAK at the Yak and Yeti.

Re: Yakitori House

Yakitori House and the Tangerine Cafe are my two favorite quick serve restaurants. I usually get the curry udon at the former, and the chicken platter at the latter.

They are pretty tender. Besides, it's put in a bread thing with garlic and butter, so it's not like you're eating it commando.

Re: EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

My tradition is to try the new food stands first. Will probably go for Hawaii first because I love local island food. After the new stands, then I would go for my favs- France - escargot, short ribs Ireland - fisherman's pie, lava cake Canada - maple glazed salmon, apple sausage?, cheddar cheese sou...

Re: Been on Disney Tours?

Well, you can't back out of the rope bridge actually! While signing up for the tour on the phone, the CM asked many questions. One was, is anyone afraid of heights? There are also other parameters, you have to be over 4' tall, under 250 #, good heath, no heart conditions etc, be able to walk distan...

Disneyland Railroad. All day long. You're outside, you get to see different lands go by and you get to people watch. Also dinosaurs!

I don't really care for these, but people seem to love the zebra domes at Boma. I'd rather have the oreo bonbons at Cape May Cafe.

Re: Which hotel near Disneyland?

Stayed at the Red Lion two years ago. The room was really nice, but it was a bit of a walk for us who are used to staying closer to the parks. This past week I stayed at the Castle Inn and Suites. It has the basics of a regular hotel room, truly no frills, but the bed was comfy enough.

Re: WDW college program experiences

I noticed several CP name tags on CM's during this past trip and tried to ask some of them how they were enjoying their time at Disney. It was nice to see enthusiastic faces and know they were having a great time. The CP CM's did seem to be more likely to cluster around and talk and not as attentiv...

Re: Coronado to Universal

Depends on how many of you there are. A Mears Checker taxi would run you about $35-40 one way, even if it's a van (which fits 7). Using the Mears shuttle service is, I believe, $18 per person and they pick you up at certain times. Or you can rent a car from the Alamo/National Car Care Center near th...
