You can change that through the system preferences. I think you have to go to energy saver. Also make sure you are not running too much in the background that will cause the machine to work harder and drain the battery faster. It does have a USB port, I plugged it in and it told me I needed to download software, so I did and it still doesn't work. I'll have to work on it next week when I have some time.
