I actually kinda like it. Thanks for doing this. I typically use the Windows Desktop application, but sometimes that acts weird for me, so having this is a fallback (and maybe even will take over as primary) method for connecting is fantastic!

Sorry, I know I'm really late to this party, but I've also noticed this and have had conversations with the admins. We've tried things to fix it and sometimes seems as if it had. I'm sure the root cause diagnosis is ongoing and I'm sure a solution will be found soon (if not already)!

I guess the only "defense" I can come up with is that at the time of the script being written, it was commonly thought that it was dinosaurs? Perhaps it wasn't figured out until after...? Or, it was simply just not consulting with experts

Forgive me for jumping in as I may be wrong, but I don't think 5MB/s upstream would really offer any value. I have FiOS and donate my upload bandwidth which is currently 25 MB/s and that powers the 48k request stream.
